Matchmaking problems

I hate that Gears of War 2 even has Matchmaking. They should have just left it the same way it was in Gears of War (1). The matchmaking in this game takes soooo long that it makes me not even want to play it anymore. I go to the bathroom & do #2, come back and it's still in matchmaking. I mean come on, I play Halo & COD4. These two games find matches within 10-15 seconds. With Gears of War 2, Im waiting like 10-15 minutes and it still doesn't find a match. This problem SERIOUSLY needs to be fixed...BAD, or it's going to lose most of it's online players when COD: Modern Warfare 2 comes out. The players are eventually going to get tired of this little problem that they CANNOT seem to fix.

I agree... For the past 4 days I have not even been able to join a game and before anyone wants to say it's just because of my internet connection etc... It can't be because for any other game I own on 360 I can find games within a matter of seconds. It's no excuse that I bought a game and can't even play it... I'm seriously thinking of just switching over to COD4 until the new one comes out.

I have the same problem. Since the first of June I find players and no matches. Thought it may be my router got new still didnt fix it. Gears 2 is the only game that does this. Gears 1, Cod, Halo all work perfect. I wish I could play G2.

Ive got ports opened, everything tests good and it still will not connect to matches.

I mean...it's kind of stupid. How is it possible to find people, but can't find a match???...that's pretty stupid & alot of my xbox friends agree with me.

It's basically unfixable at this point. Only thing that helps is you have a good connection. I'm not saying you don't have one, but it's all YOU can do. You can also pray your host isn't from some 3rd world country on illegal dial-up. By the way, CoD: MW2 WILL take a ton of players from both Gears and Halo, and many other online games. It's brand new, bad ass, and fun.

Gears 2 is a slow sinking ship, shotgun is broke, it never registers. melee is all kids do, sniper headshots work every once in a while. chainsaw vacuum? i mean come on EPIC. DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR GAME. IT IS BROKEN AND YOU NEED TO FIX IT DO IT NOW. I GAVE YOU MY 60$ NOW GIVE ME A GAME.

I waited for half an hour today for matchmaking. I just cut it off at the 30min mark because it was just getting stupid

I have even done the router tips the forums gave out down to a T.

i dont have that much of a prob with the matchmaking if i cant find a game within 2 mins i cancel the matchmaking and start again and it usually works

The problem I have is with the team balancing. Most of the time I get put on a team with lesser skilled folk, and on the other end people in the 70's with 2.0+ KDR. I dont get that.

agreed, thats my only probem with mp, i dont care that everybody chainsaws and uses the shotty like its going out of style, i dont care that it takes 2-5 minutes to get a match, my problem is that the two teams are never
equal(ish) skill, im a level 30 now, im tired of getting matched up with level 60 and higher all the time, because every time i do its a lagfest, and they just run through our team with ease, maybe its the lag maybe its because they are such higher levels, i dont know but its getting annoying, because i dont quit for 2 reasons #1-its crappy because the bots suck and im not going to do that to my team #2- i dont like them taking 1500 points from me for quiting

Keep in Mind, Wiz, that we can't see their true skill levels but only exp rank now. i.e. Rank 100 True skill 25, etc....

agreed. takes WAYYY too damn long and half the time the match is lost when the host quits. wtf epic?

It does take long but it is(Most of the time) the users connection,when i had my Xbox in my room I couldn't find a game at all but after a while I turned off everything that uses wireless connection and I get a big boost in my connection.After a while I changed the room of where my Xbox is and I can find a game as easily as Halo or COD.

Dang I wish I could! Wonder what your connect speed is? I have not connected to match in over a month. I have to play COD WAW,and Gears 1. Mine finds players then no matches. Sucks!

you guys postin your connections... I don't see why you would have a problem at all... check my connection out and I don't have a problem at all connecting up, but I do lag alot times...you sure something isn't restricting your connection? Firewall maybe?
