Default Weapon originals [Work in progress]

As of now i'm working on some weapon projects for Simburgurs weapon design progress, as you will see My skills on drawing weapons isn't so advanced and these are the first guns I can recall drawing. Any criticism/question is well accepted. These weapons are influenced on existing weapons on real life or on gears of war. Note: at the moment these are just sketches

Weapon name: The muzzler (AKA Bumble sting) [Name in progress]

    How it began:

    Brief description:
The muzzler is a close range weapon. It has 3 bullets per magazine. As it's name implies it is a weapon that makes little sound when shot. bullets do few damage, but are covered in baby nemacyst ink. Causing a slow poisoning that spreads throughout 6 seconds. Each bullet can cause up to a bit more than 2/5 of the enemies health. As of shooting it is as fast as a boltok. When active reloading, the bullet causes more damage, yet the speed remains the same. As of melee, it's damage is that of a hammer of dawn, but the weapon is covered in spikes (or as in the second image it has the bullets exposed). And cause the same damage it would cause when shot throught a period of time of 6 seconds

Weapon name: The shocker [Name in progress]

Brief description: It is more of a heavy weapon not as big as a mulcher or mortar, but heavy enough to move like if you had one, although you can run with it. As you can see it is a weapon based on electricity shots. up top it has a battery. Each battery can shoot up to 5 times, 4 shots cause death, although 3 active ones can also kill. If shot to the floor and if close enough it can cause cringe to the enemies. Each shot can bounce if shot to a wall.

Possibly my last idea would be involved with this fella:

Nice basic sketches here, the last weapon looks too familarly like a Lancer, the Pistol with the bayonet is a good idea,(One I wanted to try out) But one criticism would be that they need a bit more diversity to make them look unique, and easy way you can do this is simply, Scale the weapons up, allowing you to ass more detail and fine lines. =) Good luck!

Anyway...They look nice, they definatley get across what the weapon is meant to look like, and that is what they are meant to do. It's hard to comment further without knowing what it is though.

yeah, thanx. They're just some basic sketches two first give birth to the concept as a whole . And the second one is actually based on an actual assault rifle, but I will be editing, thanks for the advice

    First one is awesome.

FYI, HoD has the lowest melee damage value, so that doesn't really make sense?

that's what the melee damage does, but since it melee's with ink covered spikes/bullets. on a lapse of 6 seconds it does more, equal to a bit more than the average melee. If it were to do the same damage as the rest of the weapons, plus the ink damage, the shot/hit would be way to overused

Added an updated version of the Muzzler. I still need to use some pencils for the shadowing, but just wanted to add it like that first incase I mess up the shadowing

Cool weapon designs Mint, like the idea of the spikes on the "Muzzler", makes me think of the Locust having some really bada*s custom guns with all blades and spikes and stuff attached.

The "Shocker" has a nice futuristic look to it too, nice clean lines. Good job overall, gotta check out Sim's thread now after seeing this stuff.

ohh i missed the part where is has damage of a period of 6 seconds, i was also slightly confused by the huge spikes yet low melee damage

Thanks, I updated the shocker with a new version, apparently it looked to much like the lancer assault rifle, now I created an alternate version (it is not the final though)

Thanks, Muzzler shoots as boltok, it is a slow yet lethal weapon. The shocker is fast, as fast as a trigger can shoot. but to reload it is as slow as the mortar.

Updated with a colored version of the muzzler. It's pretty simple

I was going to do them on photoshop, but I don't have a Wacom tablet, meaning I would need to trace the drawing with my mouse...and well it would be very imperfect, but I might as well give it a try

Ughh... drawing with a mouse is a nightmare.

Have you ever tried using vectors? Like the pen tool? If you can use vector shapes you should be able to replicate the drawings fairly easily, then just color and you're done!

As a matter of fact that is what I usually do, but, it would look too simplified, like if it were a 1st grade technical drawing. But I'll try later today to check how it ends up . And yes, the mouse and drawing are almost Archnemesis, even more true when i'm a lefty and use the mouse with the right hand

I don't get you... Can't you just do it from scratch?

I made mine from scratch and it's coming along nicely.

Maybe add in some gradient shading and extra detail?

Crotale and Frag-Happy use textures too to build up detail in their vector art, maybe that could work for you also?

as long as the first gun can't down you with the poison i think it's nice.
It's pronounced "Gib" with a hard G sound, not a j sound. Epics wrong

Both shots do near a 90 % of damage including the poisoning effect. So in theory a third shot could down them, but not kill them. it's as slow as the boltok and when active reloaded it doesn't shoot faster
