Default Help Counterfeit COG CSID LAST DAY TAGS?

About 2 months ago I saw this on ebay

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ernal/tag2.jpg

The auction ended at about 12:00 pm est @ 27.00, I was upset at missing the auction and kept looking. About 2 weeks ago another resurfaced from the same seller. "russrobrob" He has been on ebay for 3 years and only has 5 feedback, only 1 recent not from this auction.

About 2 weeks ago another auction appeared with this picture same seller.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/Enternal/tag.jpg

I contacted the seller and asked him where he got the tags and if he had any more. He said he had one more and if If I didn't win the auction he sell to me directly. I asked them were these the tags for the last day campaign given out by Epic. He said "I recieved the tags from Xbox. This was not an Epic campaign, it was an Xbox campaign. The CSIDs were all unique but they only opened easter egg content on the site, no big content Still, they are awesome!"

I didn't win this last auction it went up to 127

I offered him 90 for his last tag and he sent me a tag that looks just like the one in those pics, I compared it to also other "last day" tags that people found and received, it looks legit shape and placement of material, its heavy. CSID accepts, but asks for a pass which I don't have. One thing that stuck out is that it came in a baggy that has "made in china" written on it. Now thats not doesn't say much, many items are made there, unfortunately knockoffs too. And these didn't look like any of the other homemade etc, generic tags on ebay, they looked the same.

I decided to keep an eye out to see if any more were put up for sale and sure enough another one is up right now for 99 cents.

    Ebay auction #170348704369

For those that have tags, or are in the knowledgeable about this promotion. Do these tags seem legit? Is it possible this person got at least 4 of these "limited to 1000" cog tags. I did take several precautions and could probably get my money back, I'm just slightly bummed because I've had several misadventures trying to obtain one.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother trying to buy something you didn't have a part of.

Are they awesome? Yes. I have one and I wouldn't part with it for anything. But they were given out to people who got involved in the Last Day whether it was for working on the Last Day forum side (like myself), being part of the press or finding them as part of the viral campaign (like the majority of people).

I know that sounds really weird. But as far as I'm concerned, those tags are special because of what it took to get them. If you wanna buy one, fine, but buy them at your own risk - it looks legit, but who knows.

    My two cents anyway.

Actually my brother and I tried being a part of the event and drove down to a Ft Lauderdale to find a gamestop employee/manager keeping it. We were both pretty bummed and I actually bought this for him for a late birthday gift. I would love to have obtained it from picking it up somewhere. Or even gone somewhere to be beating out by another person in search. Instead we got to take a look at the tag around his chest.

I appreciate the input though Thanks for responding
