kismet emitters

Can someone give me a quick tutorial or a link to a good tutorial over emitters? I have been looking at tutorials but I can't find any that make sense to me. I just want to make an escalator and this is what I was directed towards on these forums. Thanks

You can create particle systems that use meshes. You could then make a particle system that has a single stair mesh in it that is repeated and moves at an angle like an escalator.
