Palace Theron Figure - Possibly fixed?

So I keep looking at my Palace Guards wondering what could be wrong with their appearance...hmmm...

GOT IT...the Locust Icon on their helmet and shoulder pads GLOWS bright yellow in the game. I got some mockups of the figure to demonstrate.

One shot is without paint, one is done via photoshop w/ flare effects, and one is done via MSPaint.

I'm HIGHLY considering painting mine a bright yellow to fix this.

well, the pics were taken from figures.com. I checked the game too. You can't tell via pics, but the figures do share silver and gold in the game...the gold is almost a chrome gold tho - so it's very reflective and shiny. The parts i edited in the pics are lit up - thus, they have lights behind them.

Well, I went ahead and 'fixed' one of my Palace Guards...check out the pics. It's amazingly great. Everyone who isn't even familiar with the figures says they like the one with the glowing sigil - some not even knowing why they chose the glowing sigil one. LOL.

I'm gonna paint all mine like this but I figured I'd show the difference between the two.

I need to add the dot back in the middle of the sigils...but yeah, it makes em stand out more to me...i dunno. It's possible I'm just crazy

The helmets are off, theyre alot spikeyer in game, this helmet looks completely wrong, same for the shoulderpards

They glow in the game. Check out the strategy guide. The model is dark, yet still the sigils shine through. They are 'lit up' like the Brumak and Corpser eyes. The armor is somewhat more reflective in the game too. The figure represents this via patches of gold versus silver. Yes, there is silver on these bad boys, it's just hard to tell in pics. It's an excellent contrast of the two tho and I'm not complaining. If we wanted em game perfect, we'd need chrome gold instead of the flat gold used on the figure, but a) that would make the figures way too shiny imho and cost hella more.

Longshot, I'm going to have to disagree with you there. The figure is rather spot on. I've gone through and looked at the models and colors on practically ALL the figures. The armor is dead on - including the bullet marks and whatnot on the helmet.

In the days of CAD software, NECA can basically take a 3D image and create a mold using said image. Less skill is taken as far as sculpting, but shrug, I'm not complaining.

you also have to remember, in the game, there is a lot of dull lights such as the flames and candles. So the colors are eh. But its a toy and i want one. lol.

I got my Palace Guard on May 21, and it's just fine. Nothing appears to be wrong with the articulation.
