Cracklig/Static Sound

Greetings.

I am experiencing sound problems. I get crackling/static within the game, both in menus and within the game engine. I have tried the OpenAl sound option, and tweaking the amount of sound channels available to the game with no luck. Onboard sound is switched off.

I am running fully patched Windows Vista, and a SB Audigy with the 5.1.12.1.2001. From what I understand this particular game engine does cause some sound problems with some systems.

Any ideas as to how I can fix the problem? Thanks for any help.

It's the Audigy, I have the same problem, with all drivers. If you try your onboard sound you'll notice the problem is reduced greatly but not completely gone.
