Title Fix? Really?
I have played 50+ rounds after the recent Title Fix and still notice the single most frustrating bug that can make or break the game. Meaning this bug can cause me (or any player) to quit due to bullet lag. The hit rate on the client side for the Shotgun (the most important weapon in the game) is STILL AN ISSUE and has not been corrected even after you claimed to have fixed it. I have the fastest connection you can buy short of a T1 line, all of my ports are open and my firewall settings are optimized for game play, so believe me when I say this is not a ďconnection issue.Ē All of the other weapons fire perfectly except for the shotgun unless I am the host.
Q: How do you know you are the host?
A: The shotgun works perfectly and you cannot melee after a round is over. Those that arenít the host can keep meleeing by pressing the B button during the change to the next round after a win.
Q: How do you know if the shot gun is working properly?
A: In a multiplayer game, move close to a wall, hopefully a light colored wall (to see the bullets hit) and stand approximately 5-7 feet away. Aim at the wall and fire your shot gun and watch for the spray of bullets to
hit the wall. If there is any and I do mean any delay between the sound of the shot firing and the time it takes for the bullets to hit the wall, YOU HAVE BULLET LAG. Depending on the connection and game, the delay can vary. However, from 5 feet away there should never be a delay between the shot, sound and hit.
Some of you may notice the more experienced players firing their shotgun at the very beginning of the match to judge the bullet lag. I do this as well to determine what weapon I should use and if itís even worth staying in the game. Has anyone noticed there are always people quitting after the very first round? The major reason for this is because of the frustration from getting beat with bullet lag. Meaning, you are in a duel with an opponent and because of the shotgun bullet lag, a good or above average player was defeated.
WE NEED A REGION FILTER. I donít care about my rank; I care about having an amazing online experience. I want to know that when I press forward on the joystick, the character moves forward, left or right, roadie runs and so forth. I want to know that the millisecond I pull the trigger to fire a weapon, the bullets come flying out of the gun and hit whatever it is I am aiming at immediately without sound, time and visual delay. When I slide into cover, I donít want to see the character hop high into the air (in cover form) over a cover barrier come back and take cover (happens a lot on the bridge in Ruins). I canít have an amazing online experience when someone in another country is in the same the game. It may even be the same country causing lag?!?!? Itís impossible to enjoy this game when 4 out of 5 games have some kind of lag due to the lack of a region filter. Yes, there are those horrible, immature people that use a lag switch and try to make the game glitch but you can tell when that is happening. Believe me when I say people are starting to provide negative feedback and hopefully XBOX will research this and penalize them accordingly. People have become so upset (and quit) with this issue and are able to tell when the game is going to lag from the following: A. the trickling and loading of graphics on the very first multiplayer screen. B. The amount of time it takes to load the match. At least filter or separate USA and you will see a tremendous improvement with game attendance.
Matchmaking has some serious bugs as well
EPIC, I implore you to tap/listen in on a typical match before the game starts. The reason you should do this is because of the amount of negativity, vulgar language, disruptiveness, bigotry and racism resulting from choosing a game type. Canít you get sued for letting this go on? Donít get me wrong, some of it is hilarious but I do not get offended easily. (This causes people to quit) YOU MUST SEPARATE THE GAME TYPES. Execution and Warzone should have their own play list. This will not affect achievements as the players will choose their preferred channel. I canít tell you how many times the following happens which cause players to quit the match: 1. you are paired up with inexperienced players and pitted against very experienced players. 2. Any combination of an uneven number: (5 VS 4, 5 VS 3 and so forth).
If it existed, HALO 3 with the ability to prone and have 3rd person view during game play and multiplayer would be the greatest game ever made. Gears 2 is the closest thing to it. I donít want to play HALO, I want to play GEARS. EPIC, ask BUNGIE what they are doing and follow in their footsteps for multiplayer. But donít lose the 3
rd person view. Follow this and you will be more successful than Bungie.
I think in general, people love this game (GEARS 2) just like me and see the amazing potential of a great gaming experience and thatís why so many complaints are sent. Look at the complaints as cries for help instead of whining and complaining. If these problems are not fixed, eventually your clients will dwindle, one by one. I am on the verge of dwindling along with several of my good friends that have already put the controller away.
If these things can be fixed then I am rallying for a NEW GAME TYPE.
Suggestion for a new game type:
Team Death Match
This would be an Execution type game play with re-spawning (no territories or leaders).
Goal: First team to reach 40 kills wins the game
DBNO (Down But Not Out) = 10 Seconds
Re-spawn time = 3 Seconds.
No re-spawning once goal is reached.
