    Name: Project Midair
    Version: ALPHA 2
    Compatibility: UT3 PC 1.3, PS3 not yet support, my plan is to do that when a 'playable' version is released.
    Description: Project midair is a gamemode for UT3, it consists of spawning the players equipt with rocketlaunchers with infinite ammo. Damage is disabled when you're on the safe floor, so is fall damage, but once you're in midair you're vulnerable for damage. This way you can only frag your enemy with air rockets, the further you are away from your fragged opponent the more points you get.
    Comments: Inspired by painkiller's people can fly mode
    Features:
    • Tweakable gameplay
    • -Adjustable rocket knockback
    • -Adjustable rocket speed (next alpha)
    • -Adjustable score system
    • Higher scores for harder frags (new!)

    We are looking for mappers who'd like to make a small map for this mod.
    The map only has to consist of one room (preferred 2048x2048x8192 or something similar to that).

    This is not the version with the score system implemented yet.
    Only DM-PCF-BlueSky_b3 is 'playable' pcf-night is not that nice more a testing map.

    downloading now that mod rocks
    i have found 1 problem when the bot kill me
    the bot get kill too and fall down and kills his self

    Couldn't you then just NOT jump in mid air and stand on the ground the whole time and avoid dying?

    no, since the other player is equipt with an rl and will shoot you, making you airborn. (rocket knockback is increased)You'll understand what i'm saying when you play lol

    Wow, what a breath of fresh air this is. Im really impressed. I played this mod and had lots of fun. The rocket speed is awesome and it feels really good. Now add some PK movement and it will be the best mod ever!!!
    Also I found it lots of fun with multidodge and no self damage for bouncing off the walls. Just a thought, maybe no self RL damage for the wall bouncing
    Overall its badass and I can see this becoming a big hit. I will play it more tonight and the next few days and post back when I have more playing time under my belt.

    Hi Funeral Dancer, thanks for your reply m8 I think no self damage would indeed be a cool idea, maybe Unknown1987 can implement this as an option, so that you can turn it on and off. What do you exactly mean with PK movement =]? You mean the jumping increasing the speed or no dodging or just faster walking? please explain

    As much as I love this mod, I'm unable to finish it. I can't program (UT language that is) myself and I don't think Unknown has enough time for it as he was offered a good job. I will ask him though, if anyone wants to help to continue developing this mod, tell me!

    I could try to do some mapping for it. Don't know UnrealScript either, unfortunately. What's it need to be 'done'? My recollection of last Alpha was that it was pretty stable.

    Well, more maps is always better just make some nice variations, the layout should be basically the same. Just one tall room, just make whatever you feel like. I mailed Unknown and asked him if he sees a chance in continuing to work on this project, and if not if he could send me the latest sourcecode, that way it can be improved and tweaked!     Hey!

    Oh man seeing this has reminded me I have a few unfinished maps for this and the Tower map I completed.. I can also code lol, have been tempted to re-write it from scratch as a separate game type if I got around to it but Uni took over my life!

    I just graduated so I have a bit of spare time, I think I'll polish off some of the maps I have =)

    I've got one VERY rough prototype of a map done. I've got a few more good ideas, I'll finish them all and upload a pack sometime within the next few days. They're all system textures and BSP for now, which isn't my final intention, but I'm getting all the gameplay prototypes working before I do any art for them.

    Just got my first build done.

    This is obviously extremely primitive and very early. I just threw all my initial ideas down in BSP and made sure they didn't crash.

    Contains 12 maps, although six are variants on a theme.

    Three simple shapes, close to existing gameplay.
    -DM-PCF-Circle
    -DM-PCF-Cross
    -DM-PCF-TowerSmall

    Six variations on a Divider theme. I'm considering trying a shoot-through one too, next build. Couldn't get it to work this time for some damn reason.

    Three weird ones that experiment with PCF gameplay.
    -DM-PCF-Killzone
    -DM-PCF-ManHockey
    -DM-PCF-Platforms

    Known Issues:

    All Maps:
    -Bot Paths Suck. Will fix in later versions, but there's only so much to do. PCF bots are really really dumb, because, well, they don't know how the mode works.
    -All BSP, often with no lighting, system textures, etc. Yeah, I know. But doing them nice takes time, I'm posting this so I can get some feedback, decide which are worth finishing, and which to finish first. If somebody were to want to finish one for me, I'd happily hand some of these off.

    DM-PCF-Divider Variants:
    -Holes are too high up. On default settings, you need to do some halfway difficult trick-jumping, rather than a straight-up rocket jump. Which is fine if you have a way to turn off self-damage, something which PCF could really do without anyway IMO, but I'm gonna move them down next time I sink a few hours into this.

    DM-PCF-DividerSolid and DividerSolid-Glassy:
    -Bots have aneurysms. This is because there is no way to navigate without rocket jumps, and they don't know about that, so they don't see path nodes and they think
    "Well, I'm off the grid. Time to kill myself and get back on it." And then it doesn't happen. NO IDEA how to fix this.
    -This renders these two levels nearly unplayable.

    DM-PCF-Manhockey:
    -I'm starting to think this is a bit big, and I'm not sure if I like people standing on the goals, but I still think it's a cool variant on the formula.

    DM-PCF-Platforms:
    -Bots go beyond usual levels of derpiness. Again, this is a rocket jumping map, I don't see them getting over it.
    -Upside-down Berserk is all ugly-like and half it's polygons are missing. No idea about this, either. Might give up on the upside-down thing. Just thought it was classy.

    Next Build:

    -Fixed Dividers.
    -Some new stuff.
    -Maybe maps look nicer.

    Next build happens next time I have free time, I'm back at school now and apparently am learning three programming languages with three different syntaxes at once.

    So one thing I noticed while I was playtesting these maps: PCF uses a non-standard (read: Incompatible with MapMixer) method of implementing custom game-mode options (goal score, etc.) Which is a pain, because it's incompatible with Mapmixer. Dunno why this is, and if it's too late to change it, and how hard changing it would be, but, I dunno, consider it a feature request or whatever?
