EDIT: The binding actually works! I didn't think it was working because there was no message in the console about the demo recording starting. Then I checked the demo folder and noticed all my attempts were there! So if you want to create a demorec keybind you can use:
F10 = key I used; you can change that to whatever
%d = date (it's in Month-Day-Year format)
%t = time? (just seems like random numbers)
%m = map (doesn't work - always says UTFrontend) - anyone know a fix for this?
%p = the player name you're logged in as (probably don't need this)

I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this and I thought this question would be most suitable for this thread.
Is there a binding at all that exists in UT3 to SwitchToLastWeapon?
I've got my UT2004 set up so that when I press 'R' it swaps to the Link Gun and then when I press it again, it swaps to the last weapon I was using.
I see the command SwitchToBestWeapon, but sometimes it's not the most appropriate weapon to use in that situation haha.
Any help to guide me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I read most of coments about to change our keybinds, but I think I see nothing about how to change the TAB key, (may i just missed but..).
I used to use Tab@flackcanon in ut2k4, and now in ut3 it types and when I want to change it.. it doesn't allow me...it's ****in annoying :<.
also I've to say that try to change something in ini files it's weird cuz I have a lot of ini files, im talkin about steam, and Im very lost...
there's defaultinput@utgame but there's baseinput@engine too, so which of them should I change? o.o....so there's no utinput.ini

I don't have Steam, so I don't know where the .ini files are for you. For standard users they are at My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config. The file you need is UTInput.ini, not base or default. Try doing a search from the start menu for it.
When you find it, find the line
and change TypeKey to something besides Tab. While you're there you can change your ConsoleKey back to the standard Tilde. Hope that helps.
I want to use a specific command.
When I press k (with my mouse wheel left), I get the best weapon (switch to best weapon).
However, I would like to bind the 9 (Rocket Launcher) too.
And I want to make it this kind:
After pressing the k key, it should press these keys twice.
(Either quickly 9 twice or switch to best weapon twice (the 1st is important))
Since patch 2.0 the Avril prevents from quick switching weapons.
You can quickly press a key twice to get your weapon.
For example I shoot an Avril and quickly press 9 twice to get my Rocket Launcher.
This trick does not work for "switch to best weapon".
k = switch to best weapon and 9 and twice
I hope that's not too much

To double tap a key you need a keyboard that does macros. You can't bind it. Sorry bud.
Otherwise, your bind looks good for a piped binding, except make sure you switch out the "o"s for "k"s in the PipeX lines.

I know it definitely works for the keyboard but I will check the mouse.
The G-Keys of the G15 have other tasks.

Guys, I have found another and better way to fix the Avril problem!
(Quickly weapon change after an Avril shoot seems impossible for many players, me included).
No extra tools are needed.
Open the UTInput.ini.
(Check the 1st page if you don't know its location).
Then you have several ways:
Bindings=(Name="GBA_SwitchWeapon1",Command="switch weapon 1 | OnRelease switchweapon 1")
(until you want, i made it until 10)
Bindings=(Name="key", Command="switchweapon 1 | OnRelease switchweapon 1")
(until you want).
That means you will automatically press the key for the weapon twice
For example, I use these bindings:
Bindings=(Name="P", Command="switchweapon 4 | OnRelease switchweapon 4")
Bindings=(Name="O", Command="switchweapon 5 | OnRelease switchweapon 5")
Bindings=(Name="K", Command="SwitchToBestWeapon | OnRelease switchweapon 8")
These keys are emulated by some of my mouse keys.
(Just as on the other screenshot, but instead of macros I set keystrokes.)
After I shot an Avril, I can quickly change to any weapons.
(From 1 until 8 and of course by pressing the 3 other keys).
You will not be able to get higher weapons than RocketLauncher by pressing the key for SwitchToBestWeapon after an Avril shot.
(At least not quickly...)
Scrolling with mouse wheel still does not work until now.
I will check if there are any other solutions!
However, I doubt there could be a fix for "previous weapon" and "next weapon"
Ga-Reef man, if you want the bots to drop orb, with new patch the command is V 1 6, unfortunately I don't know how to keybind these...
And Chaotic, what that bind does is switch to my sniper rifle, change my FOV and makes my sensitivity lower | and when I press the button again, it switches to my best weapon, full FOV and my sensitivity back to high. I don't use the FOV change anymore though... it doesn't really help me out personally. PEAce dudes

works fine, but replacing "z" with "LeftControl" doesn't work.
both keys are unmapped to start with.
I tested by mapping the left control in the game and then seeing what it calls it, and it calls it LeftControl, very confusing.
|moc|Unreal, It looks like the binding you wrote should work... it's the same as all of the others, so if as stated you've already unbound the keys I'd have a look at what numbers your weapons are bound to. I had a problem with my bindings once when I had bound weapons to keys other than the numbers 0 - 9 in game, and then tried to ini edit. That's the best I can think of.
as for reapur, I check my ini and LeftControl is still the correct name. I can only think of it being a problem with that particular key (the game might use it for a certain function only or something :S). Unless you are solely trying to use that bind in BTA <TAM, in which case you need to copy all of the binds you'd like into the "Battle Team Arena" section of the ini....

Here's what totally weird.
I looked in the input.ini file and looked for every line that had leftcontrol and sure enough there were a couple of lines that were a mile long with leftcontrol in them. there didn't look to be assigned to anything, but I deleted them anyway, just to test.
Now it works! I don't why, the lines were binded, just defined somehow.
Anyway, it seems FOV doesn't work very well. I have mine set to 100 normally, but even when I pull down the console and type fov 10 or whatever number, it seems to have only two settings, 100 and the other one which feels more like 80.
Anyone see this weird behavior?
Just wondering, but does anyone one else randomly crash or get kicked from servers when using the throw weapon key bind. It has happened to me twice now, I've been playing fine (never had any real UT3 problems), and then I go to throw weapon and bam... crash or kick... take your pick I guess lol. I'm thinking one of a few things, for example Patch 2.0 bug, or maybe some servers are running 2.1 beta and they don't react well with this bind ?. Anyways, if you guys find out, let me know PEace

following the above steps for unbinding, i used the following:

the first one, using the letter "Z", works like a charm.

Both the "A" and "Z" ARE listed there, could they somehow be interfering with my attempts to use those letters/keys?
now are you trying a or A? because I did notice the ability to use shift on the bindings.
It looks like the second set of entries are added by the game engine after they're verified to work. so everything you add at the top section are duplicated on the bottom after you launch the game and the game decides that they're OK.
If you see my comment above, I had kind of similar problems. There was a section that looked irrelavent to my binding that included leftcontrol that I was trying to bind.
look thru all your bindings, in the whole file, not just the playerinput and see if a(A) is binded somewhere.
I don't get it:
After throwing away a weapon and picking it up again during an online match, the game freezes and I have to restart my pc.
If I quit the process, I will get a bluescreen of death.
What the hell is going on?
It works during offline matches.

If you toss your own weapon, you can then pick up a fresh one followed by your dropped weapon. This allows you to ammo stack much more ammo than you would normally be allowed. Epic has stated that they consider this to be an exploit, and it's the reason weapon throwing was disabled when UT3 first came out. So, there's a theory that Epic put that little "bug" in there to discourage people from exploiting. Only throw weapons to team mates and you won't have a problem.
I tested some things and I did not see any exploit.
(When patch 2.0 was beta.)
Either your ammo was still the same (after throwing away, getting a new weapon and picking up the old one) or you just could not pick up your thrown away weapon.
Another player tried the same as me and he did not get any troubles.
Even if Epic put anything to prevent things: I get a system crash and I think it's not the right solution^^
lawl nightmare85... two post above the one you made... I was asking the same thing about the throw weapon hehe. And thanks for the insight sos. It would definitely be unfortunate if they did make a bug that would crash your computer though. I get the whole weapon stacking thing (using lockers), but I still don't think its an exploit sheesh...

Patch 5 Beta 3 is the reason.
After re-installing patch 4, I don't get this problem anymore.
No idea if any patch 5 will cause this problem.

I edited C://Steam/steamapps/UT3 etc input.ini instead of the my documents version, changed the docu version and it works fine now, well NumPadFive does not work but 8,6,4,2 work fine
I thought about it and middle really isnt necessary anyway, things like necro or kargo you only need left right low and top

The "F" is correct as it switches between the Flak Cannon and the Shock Rifle

Using a 255 value of the PlayerID with these orders is the same as selecting "All" from the command panel. Works with bots!

These are not specific taunts, but they are the specific sets of taunts. I am using a playerID of 0. I am not sure that is correct, but it seemed to test properly. The command console would not let me leave the playerID empty even for the emote groups which do not require player:

Command= "playemote TauntC 0"
Command= "playemote TauntD 0"
Command= "playemote TauntE 0"
Command= "playemote TauntF 0"
Alternatively, you can add just a single extra taunt bind another way using:
The game is written with a case statement which includes taunts A,B and C.
The default keybinds for Taunt 1 and 2 are of Taunt B and C, respectively. Taunt D,E, and F are missing from the case statement, so it seems you must bind them with the playemote function, instead.

Well a couple weeks ago I managed to reset my ini's. dumb me... and I am trying to recontruct my keybinds ( I mainly used saying keybinds).
The problem is I cant remember some things.
- How do I type the spacebar key into a bind- how should it be written? - bind a saying to spacebar
- I have seen some people put in Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False into their binds in this thread... do I really need to do that? I would use these binds:

Narayana, sweet find bro, I hate coming into a match to find bots, and then having to press v 1 1 1 or v141 or w/e constantly.
Channon, I didn't try it, but i looked in my ini and one of the items for the default jump button was spacebar and it was written "SpaceBar" so I assume that is what you would use.
As for the alt=/shft=/ctrl=/ I believe that UT3 added that to my version 2.0 or 1.3 binds when I upgraded to patch 2.1 <---or maybe 2.0 not sure. But you shouldn't have to write these things in unless you're thinking of using the same button but shft'd/alt'd/ctrl'd.

I did not realize that you can have 1 key bound to do several different things, just have to hit it normal or +shift or +ctrl or +alt..... cool. If get time I will have to try it.
Could have my Z key as "Thanks" and Z+ALT as TEAMSAY thanks... I doubt I can use the ctrl button for anything as that is my crouch button, or is it my crotch button?
