Default Post YOUR Gears 3 Ideas Here

Welcome. Post everything and anything you want to see in Gears 3. But for goodness sake, "no more glitches", "less lag" and "better everything" is just silly.

Oh, and SPOILERS. So be prepared.

    Here's my ideas:

Sticking grenades to meatshields and pushing them forward so they flip over cover. Or just being able to use grenades with meatshields/boomshields. But I really like the Meatbomb idea.

    Lol, meatbomb.

Tweak the specific angle and distance for picking up a meatshield. Rolling past them because you didn't stand still for two whole seconds before pressing 'A' is annoying.

    Incendiary grenades.

Kantus Zealots - they wield chainsaws and some sort of grenade. Extremely dangerous, because they are suicidal and fast. They can be slowed down by bullets, but their jumping ability allows them to somersault over cover and get behind you if you're not careful. If you stun them and then chainsaw them, you circumvent the need to duel them.

Seeder boss-fight. Since the Hollow is flooded, the surviving Seeders must be used above ground, maybe from a building. And remember the Seeder you see whilst being chased over the forest in the Reaver level? Just imagine fighting a beast like that. The fight would be fast paced, mostly about dodging the attacks and trying to get underneath it to attack the soft underbelly. However, the Seeder can scuttle away and climb up nearby walls, then jump down on top of you.

Mawr berserkers. But instead of using the hammer of dawn on them, maybe it could be a boss battle where you have to trap it, or collapse a building on top of it. I like the idea of being able to trap it, and then show a quick cutscene where everybody converges on it and blows it's face apart bit by bit with shotguns. An even better idea would be to kill it with "gutpuncher" grenades from close range (see below).

Gutpuncher grenade-launchers. If you have a lancer or hammerburst, you could stick a gutpuncher on the end and shoot it through certain walls. Can penetrate armor. If you've read the Gears book, Aspho Fields, then you know what gutpunchers are. Maybe you could screw them into the barrel of the gun?

Pilot a King Raven as one of the game's highlights. Maybe an epic boss-battle against the Queen? You should be able to fly freely, but if you get past a certain point you'll start attracting a plethora of Reavers and Nemacyst. Player 2 controls the minigun. Just imagine seeing a bunch of Locust in a building and having to do a quick spin to come back by with your gun-turret side facing them, so Player 2 can work them over. If playing by yourself, Dom could control the turret, or you might be able to switch to it and let Dom pilot the thing, though that might not work out.

Some type of worm enemy that is driven out from the underground by the seawater. Rockworms would probably come up too; just imagine a half-sunken city. You're moving down the street, and suddenly you see a rockworm come crawling out from behind a building up ahead. But the worm enemy would probably be more dangerous, as in working against you and not staying neutral.

A worm bossfight. No, not on the inside of a worm, but an actual bossfight. Gutpuncher grenades could be used to blow it up when it rears up. Or maybe, a bossfight that includes a BUNCH of huge worms, and only ends when you've killed them all. So a multi-boss fight.

Closure for at least one Carmine brother.

Clay should be some sort of badass. Or maybe D Carmine could be badass and Clay gets killed. Or vice versa. Any number of things, but we want a kickass Carmine!

Now post your own ideas. Seriously, we need them.

    *bump*

This thread isn't dead yet, it's just sleeping.

Post all your ideas here, ye fans of Gears. Multiplayer modes! Level ideas! Character ideas/archetypes! Storyline ideas! ANYTHING!

Here's another idea for the helicopter thing:

You should be forced to stay low, amongst the buildings, and follow a pretty specific path. But it shouldn't be with invisible walls and a pre-charted path. You could crash the helicopter, rip off the blades, tear through chunks of building (like the crashing slow-mo chopper in Gears 1), even fly above the buildings. BUT, Locust on the ground would do tons of damage if they hit with Torque-bows, Boomshots or even bullets. And Reavers flying above the buildings would swarm you alongside Nemacyst that also cloud the sky. There could be other helicopters chasing the boss, being destroyed, etc. Anya could say "stay low, Delta, there are Nemacyst flooding the skies!" or something like that. And then somebody else could say "Seeders on the ground! Seeders on the ground!" By then the player is thinking, "Well ****", and then ANOTHER somebody screams "We have Seeders INSIDE the buildings!" And then a helicopter in front of you could get taken out from inside a high-rise apartment.

Wow, that was a long paragraph.

And please, no more getting knocked on your ass by Kantus. The grenade-stun animation works just as well, where Marcus turns his shoulder to the grenade/Kantus and covers his ear for a couple seconds.

oh and i want a boss that dies in a epic way. killing RAAM was epic, but his death scene was ok. it was more like "your dead now *****, and we got other stuff to do"

Skorge just fell off his horsey. Was actually hoping you would kill him in a chainsaw duel.
One of the concept sketches for Skorge had his chainsaw on his arm. Would have been cool to have cut that arm off and then had him flee to his horsey. Pissed off one armed Skorge ftw

Hopefully the Boss in gears 3 will have an overly dramatic death...=)

Raven piloting would be awesome. Defo hope they include this, as it was a sad day when non of the Halo series let you fly their signature aircraft... The Pelican.
Idea for the level sounds sweet aswell

    OMGWTFBBQ Triple post much? 8-O

Skorge should have been killed by Dominic. Or, at the very least, it should have shown him bouncing and flipping across the landscape for about a mile, ripping off limbs and chunks, and then slamming into a rock facefirst just as Delta zooms by.

    Default Gore

I love the splattering blood effect on the screen during certain kills. What if the blood of a chainsaw victim temporarily blinded others?

MORE BLOOD! There's already lots of it, but it all fades too fast for me. When I blast someone with the shotgun, I want to paint the damn walls.

Gears 2 chunks of meat often look and act in ways that take me out of the game =\

Flesh can also get in the way of battle, but then again this is an interesting aspect. The meatshield is one of my favorite additions to gears multiplay. Gears 3 should make even more use of dead human/locust parts.

Yeah, I was playing Gears 1 last night and the gore was WAAYY more over the top. I like it better than Gears 2, because in 2 they decided that over-the-top wasn't cool and went with super-realistic.

Bullet holes that you get or give to someone should bleed, instead of just being black burn marks.

Blood should actually cling to players, like it does to walls, but fade away slowly. Like, fifteen seconds later it would fade, I like that. So after chainsawing someone and covering the room with blood and guts... YOU would be covered in blood and guts too. And Marcus claiming "I got some in my eye" would have so much more potential.

Boomshot execution - stand next to the downed enemy. Point the end of the boomshot downwards and lift into the air. Slam down into the enemy with such force that something splatters onto nearby walls.

yeah i'd like to see the character get affected by the blood as well, just how you do n the riftworm. Also, your lancer should get covered with blood after you chainsaw

Bernie Mataki would be a good choice for MP, even if she dies in the book series. She's damn awesome and a little MP resizing, like RAAM, the Therons and Skorge, wouldn't hurt.

And gutpunchers should be screwed into the barrels of lancers/hammerbursts, possibly by equipping the weapon twice. Think a rifle grenade in Call of Duty 3, but it would act like a less-fiery version of a mortar shell fired from the hip in Gears 2. Bouncy, until the thing's explosive end hits a surface, rests on the ground for more than a second, or hits an enemy. Fighting Berserkers and Tusk Worms with Gutpunchers, hells yeah.

Go Public! I miss my public homies.

A funny execution would be to put the end of the lancer in the mouth of an enemy and shoot it would blow there head of or put the flame thrower (i cant spell it lol) in there mouth and shoot they would just explode and fire and blood would go everywhere

Er... no. Anthony died and they can't go back on that.

What they can do is make Clay Carmine (yes, his name is Clay, though Connor IS better) a kickass badass mother****er. With really aggressive AI and way more chainsawing than Sniper Ben.

So Sylizarus, why don't you post your ideas? We could use them.

    Another idea:

Extended death sequences. It's cool to blow a Locust's legs off in mid-roadie-run and see it continue flying low to the ground for fifteen or so feet, but I want to see it writhing on the ground for a few seconds. The Scorcher makes them do this, but maiming them doesn't. Blow off one leg, it would be dead and everything, but clutching the leg and writhing around.

Bring back Boomers talking whilst dead. That was a funny way of showing that they're not really dead, they're just bleeding out (like in Aspho Fields, the book).

More over-the-top and less realism! I liked shotgunning Locust in Gears 1 because they literally exploded and blanketed the surrounding area. In Gears 2 they crumple, lose little chunks, collapse in on themselves... that should be medium-range, and close-range should be Gears 1 style.

We wanna see Dom kill something with his knife!

Horde would be better if it was literally a horde, and the enemies died in just a few shots like when you're on the Derrick. Not my idea, but I still agree with it.

And why no Reavers in Horde?

One more thing: what with all the worms coming up with the flooding of the Hollow, how are we going to steer them? There are no glowing red fruit, so why not... shoot them? Shoot the head to turn it, shoot the tail end to propel it forward.

Ok here are my enemies and weapons.

    Enemies

Sepulchral- A terrible creature found deep within the Hollow. (I got a pic so i won't describe his looks) Sepulchral is a brutal, savage creature known to evicserate his opponents. He has enough strength to pull two Brumaks(at his current size), and has two deadly bones that can come out of his skin, these blades are sharp enough to shred titanium, and hard enough to resist a tank shell. Sepulchral also has a sharp tail, which he can use with deadly presicion, as well as skin hard enough to resist all but the most powerful of weapons. An uncommon sight is his specialized torque bow, able to fire up to two arrows at once. He could also burrow under even the hardest of surfaces. Sepulchral would be a boss. *If I had my way, he'd be a damn hard, but epic, boss; or even if he got a cameo, or a mention I would be happy)

Leapers: Agile, odd looking, Locust that hop from wall to wall, or even ground to roof, depending on the scenario. They are a little smaller than a Drone, and they carry a weapon called the Shredder, a machinegun pistol with a bayonet.

Evisceraters (sp?): Large Boomers that wield an Imulsion spewing weapon called the Devastator. Eviscerators massive size allows them to uproot surrounding objects, such as small trees or a pillar, and use it as a shield.

Locust Commanders: RAAM sized Locust who lead groups of Locust into battle. They have a specialized helmet to signify leadership. Locust Commanders give a morale boost to nearby Locust, making them shoot better, and do more damage. They wield a weapon called the General's repeater, which is a more accurate, and more powerful Hammerburst.

Burrowers: Burrowers are small wormlike creatures with scythes for hands. They explode from the ground without warning (causing **** your pants moments) and slash at their prey, until there is only chunks of meat left.

Hakrill: Insanely smart Locust. They know anything you can expect to know about humans, and maybe more. They have the ability to hack computers, and decipher the human language perfectly. Hakrills are tall and slender like a Kantus, but much easier to kill, if you can outwit them.

General Narborgir: An eleven foot tall Locust General. Narborgir is a merciless, savage leader, who eliminates humans, and Locust, without thinking. Narborgir has a similiar robe compared to RAAM's, but his head is hidden behind a specialized helmet. Think RAAM's fight, but harder, seeing as he has a multi shot "rocket launcher".

    Weapons

Shredder: An SMG with a bayonet on the end. Holds up to 300 bullets in total, with 50 bullets per clip.

Devastator: A massive weapon that spews Imulsion in a constant stream, blanketing the area with it. The Imulsion will hurt you if you stand in it, and if sprayed on you, will cover your character, leaving a skeleton left when its finished. Can hold up to 20 seconds worth of constant fire, while generally only lasting 3 seconds.

Sepulchral's Torque Bow: Cannot be used by the player. A Torque Bow that can fire up to two shots simultaneusly, with a third shot following seconds later.

General's Repeater: A more accurate, more powerful version of the Hammerburst. Can hold 250 bullets total, with 25 per clip.

Hakrill Stream Gun: A Stream Gun fires off small, sticky, grenade like objects in a streamlike fashion. These will stick to whatever they hit, and explode when their is movement near them. Can hold 180 shots total, with 90 per clip.

The Obliterator: Cannot be used by the player. Fires 3 RPGs at once, 'Obliterating' the target. Used by the Locust General Narborgir, strong enough to kill a Brumak in 2 shots.

I would like to be able to use the Butcher's cleaver and the Maulers Boomflail, that would be epic. Perhaps switch grenades out for it, seeing as the Boomflail is basically a giant bolo grenade.

How about a COG Submachine Gun? When I saw the Gorgon pistol in a pre-release video I thought it was an SMG and I was quite displeased when I actually used it.

And I know you're going to want to punch me in the head for saying this but what about some sort of way to dual wield sidearms? It could work Saints Row 2 style, where both are controlled with one trigger and can be holstered without dropping one?

How about some better executions? [No offense EPIC, I love some of the new ones, but some of the "unique" executions are lame. Like the "lancerbash" and the torque B slash that is just a regular melee. The Shotgun Golf should be a Y execution too, and it should take a little longer.] I can has special executions for every weapon?

And then there should be more than one animation for finishing off a meatshield. For instance, you could put your sidearm to the side of their head and paint the nearest wall with grey matter.

Grenade execution? You should pick the downed enemy up "by their collar", give them a wicked smile and laugh, jam a grenade into their face and toss them aside.

And why not chainsawing a boomer? There could be two animations: One, you attempt to full out cut it in half, and end up getting through the armor and a few inches of it's shoulder before it pimpslaps you into the dirt. And two, you cut off it's leg and "down it" and it attempts to get back to it's feet but fails; like an upside down turtle!
"Can you explain to me what the hell just happened, soldier!?
    -Colonel Hoffman

    COG - Colonel Hoffman
    Locust - Grenadier/Cyclops

    All ridiculously overpowered. And FAWESOME.

I especially love the Leapers, the Burrowers, and the Locust Commanders.

I actually had an idea for Locust Commanders back on Gametalk (same place where I predicted the mulcher and flamethrower, see catchphrase). But they weren't RAAM sized, just almost that size. And they would have the black armor, but with gold trim. They carry special torque-bows that are strapped to their arms, like in the original concepts, and have longer and thinner blades for close-quarters combat. Can take cover and cause all Locust around them to have twice the accuracy, twice the damage, and 1.5x the health.

    MAJOR EDIT!!!

Because the guy above me posted at the exact same time.

    Haymaker SMG (yes, YESSS)

No dual-wielding; you only have one holster and it's been done to death in shooters.

Hold 'Y' while using a meatshield to grab the meatshield by the back of the head and slam it into the wall/ground/cover once, RAAGH, twice, RRRAAAAGHHHH, thrice!!

Lancer bash should spray blood everywhere. Hammerburst bash should make a loud cracking noise.

Attempt to chainsaw a boomer from the front and getting pimpslapped sounds pimp. Attack it from the back and do to it what the redneck guy in the Gears comic did coughcoughcastrationcoughcough. "Buddy... you're f*cked."

Chainsaw a Brumak's finger off. Hells yeah.

Also (this IS just an idea remember) maybe, each character should have abilities (similiar to what someone else said). I thought it out and I got these:

    COG

Marcus: Morale Boost: When near another member of Delta squad, he will boost the damage they and him do to enemies.

Dom: Get Back in There!: When near another member of Delta squad, he will boost thier and his, regeneration speed by approximately 2 seconds.

Cole: Can't Stop the Train Baby!: Gives Cole, and other Delta squad members, a speed boost when roady running.

Baird: Tech Head: Allows nearby members of Delta squad to have extra ammo for thier weapons.

Anthony Carmine: Breathing Apparatus+Speed: Ink Grenades do not effect Anthony or Benjamin. Anthony and Benjamin are also faster than most COGS, due to thier slender build, but this makes them take more damage.

Benjamin Carmine: Breathing Apparatus+Speed: Ink Grenades do not effect Anthony or Benjamin. Anthony and Benjamin are also faster than most COGS, due to thier slender build, but this makes them take more damage.

Dizzy Wallin: Cowboy: Does more damage, and can hold more ammo, for pistols. (Snub or Boltok)

Hoffman: Morale Boost: When any COGs are near Hoffman, they will get a morale boost, similiar to Marcus's.

Tai: Tough as a Brumak: Tai can take more damage than other COGs, but runs slower.

    Locust

Drone: Strength in Numbers: When near another Drone, will gain a slight damage boost. When near a higher ranking Locust, will get more damage, depending on the rank.

Grenadier: Shotgun is MINE+Grenades!: Grenadier has a damage boost when using a shotgun. Grenadiers spawn with frag grenades.

Elite Grenadier: Shotgun is MINE+Grenades!: Grenadier has a damage boost when using a shotgun. Grenadiers spawn with frag grenades.

Sniper: Head in Scope: Snipers have a damage boost when using sniper rifles.

Kantus: Get Back on Your Feet!: Kantus have the ability to revive teammates from ten feet away, the animation is the same as in campaign, so this is risky.

Beast Rider: Hunt Them Down!: After killing three people without dieing, the Beast Rider can call in a Bloodmount for 10 seconds, this can be killed.

Cyclops: I Heard you like Chainsaws: The Cyclops has a damage boost when using a Lancer.

RAAM: Like a Tank+Morale Boost: RAAM can take more bullets than other Locust, but is slower as a result. RAAM also has a morale boost, similiar to Hoffman's.

Theron Guard: Charging: The Theron Guard has a faster charging Torque Bow, that does slightly less damage than normal.

Theron Sentinel: Destroying: The Sentinel has a slower charging, more damaging Torque Bow shot.

Skorge: Morale Boost+Chainsaw Staff: Skorge gives a Morale Boost similiar to RAAM's. Skorge also has a Chainsaw staff, in place of his shotgun/ Lancer, you choose before the match.

Great Idea. That's good for multiplayer because it adds strategy. Prioritizing!

i think in gow3 the next carmine should be like the others but like bada** and not die or if he does let it be by like when he is down grenade tagging the main guy.

I KNOW!! I wasted half an hour on ten individual Reavers attempting to chainsaw their legs, because a manual (not naming manuals, but you know which one) said you could do it. >_< But anyway, it would be sweet to saw the front legs, then saw a back leg and immobilize it. Lols galore

Something tells me he (Clay) will be a badass. A total, metal-chewing, chainsaw-freaking, helmeted, walking-tank BADASS. Or if not, then D. Carmine will be.

I just want the Locust to be more fierce and bloodthirsty, like every so often you see a group of Drones tear apart a crowd of redshirts. (TBH, i was quite dissapointed by their overall performance in Gears 2)

Also, how about Skorge is still alive, but there is also another badass to join him? (Again, he actually gets to kill alot of people, not damage scenery >.>)

I just had an idea. A horde locust, and if you perfectly execute it, you can chainsaw multiple enemies at once. Not in multiplayer though that'd **** it up. But in single player.

On Insane, you should have to nail multiple "perfect reloads" that grow faster and faster while you're having to tap the 'B' button. If you get what I'm saying.

Just a way of showing that you're having to perfectly balance the chainsaws against one another while AT THE SAME TIME striving to force your opponent off balance and AT THE SAME TIME mantain the proper directional momentum to dig your chainsaw into his chest, and not miss.

i think your gun should get jammed if you shoot it to much or if you chainsaw to many people coz then you would have to change it or somet and people wouldn't spray at you so much. Also i think you should be able to get on a reaver like if you kill the drivers you have an option to get on it (you could only shoot and hit them though not fly) coz it would be cool to nail locust with there own ride like the brumak
