    Default Uninstallation when installing?

    Hello everyone,

I've recently gotten my copy of Gears of War, and I started to play it.
I got to the part with the 1st Berserker without saving my games, and forgot the Hammer of Dawn, so I got mad and left it, after a while I needed place and uninstalled it.
After uninstalling it, I felt regret, so I chose to install it again, but there comes a problem - When I want to install it, it loads up as if it was installing, but then asks "Do you want to completely remove the selected application and all it's features?" as if it's uninstalling it, although it already SUCCESSFULLY uninstalled it.
So if I choose No, it just aborts the uninstallation, if I choose Yes, it gives me this error:
    http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?i...rrorlulyj7.jpg
    And then aborts it.

I tried cleaning my registry and check if there's still a remaining folder, but there was no folder with files left, and the cleans didn't do anything. It shows up as if it was installed, although it isn't.

What could be the possible cause of this problem?
What could be the possible solution to this problem?

Thank you for reading and replying.

    ~Player.

Game has Uninstallation problems. The only whay I could remove the game was:

Put the game disc in the drive, open it and right click on Gears of War.msi and uninstall.
It doesn't remove registry value so game appears to be still instaled and you cannot install it again if you don't remove those reg entries

Go to start, run, type regedit "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/and del Microsoft Games folder

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/ and del Microsoft Game folder

    You should install it again

It gives me an error that I cannot open it, and that there might be an error with the disk or data system...

You cannot open... what? DVD Drive? And your DVD Drive is ok? You tried installing some other game? Try some newer safedisc protected game. Or, go to safe mode and try from there. Try copying it with alcohol and install from image. I really don't know :\

Can't regedit is what I meant, and I don't think it's the DVD, I think it's my computer, as if the uninstallation has caused some remaining corrupted files. I tried my friend's DVD and it still does the same.

Hell how do I access HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/ otherwise than with regedit?

Try from safemode, or DOS. I use Tune Up 2009, and sometimes I can't enter register. But tune up can. If everything fails, try reinstalling windows :\ Or just repair and defragment registry. Maybe it will help
