Because I explained why I thought it's uninspiring...

It would have been better if there were more z-axis fighting and multiple routes to get from one room to another. Does that help clarify my point of view.

Good feedback, meant to improve something, will never be in complete agreement with what the author has done. That is called affirmation. You can improve something by arguing over it. Arguing being defined as two points of views being discussed, not yelling and screaming.

I have done this in my posts about your map. Whether or not you choose to take them into consideration, is up to you.

Im fine with your recommendations and honestly, i wish you would have made them when i had a beta, because i was debating wether or not i wanted to add a lower level that was like all sunken or something. Maybe i'll release a Special Edition or something

All I wanted is for you to consider my (or anyone's) constructive criticsm. I would like to test more maps as I actually like the process, but I have to set aside time to actually build a map from time to time.

I will always give comments on final releases for two reasons. The author might want to do a SE or it may help them with a future map. To me, mapping (and modding in general) is a journey/process and it doesn't stop when a map is released.

    Keep on mapping...

Z-axis fighting is when a player would either have to look up or down to fight another player instead of just looking foward/backward or side to side. In a map, there are 3 axis and the z-axis is the vertical one, hence the term. A good example would be DM-Diesel, but pretty much all stock maps offer it in some form or another.

Both links are down... <sigh> There are soooo many great maps in these threads that I was unable to get and mirror on Mapraider before the links got broken.

Sure would be easier if people would just upload them to Mapraider instead of directly to FileFront since our FF links don't go bad.

Does anyone know where both versions (the original archives with readmes) of this can be downloaded?

Thanks Schotti. There was no readme in the author's original files?

Edit: Added to Mapraider in ZIP format.

Well said and I don't think you were being too harsh, just talking straight. I happen to agree with your ideas, but hey, I am just a leech here; I am no mapper, so I don't want to whinge too much. For me, I just didn't 'get' the gameplay.

Anyhow, to each their own and to the OP, I thank you for your work.

    Question locks up computer

I got the fixed pc version of this map (files dated 11-23-08) and it crashes on my 2-year old PC running WinXP. I actually first opened the map and didn't start the match immediately (6 players) and flew around a bit checking out the map and it looks like an underwater base (but you can still run fast so maybe not) with the bubbles rising up. Looks like it could be fun to play if I can get it running. I hope it's not the video card (GTX280). Anyway, back to the story, I then started the map took a few steps and saw my opponent and then it completely locked up my computer. Restarted the computer and same thing happened while spawning, but I was able to use task manager to shut down UT3 this time. Any ideas if this can be fixed? Which map should I try to comfirm it's NOT my video card?

EDIT: looks like my system works with DM-Cipe, so it's not my card.

    Smile DM-TheLostColony_08

Has anyone ever got this map to work? Any ideas why it still crashes on my system, but practically all other maps work?
NEVERMIND, just download the rar file at utzone and make sure the file name has an '08' in it and the ut3 file is dated November 30, 2008 and you should be fine. Apparently, I still had the old version.

This one needs a screenshot with author and recommended player load and is a very strange "underwater" map and I like the background/ambient sounds. It's a tight map (sort of) with moving gears and lots of visuals, but I don't like being slowed downby the "water" or jumps into it that don't quite work (i.e. - to get flak cannon); otherwise, it's a fun map.

    Smile Deeply interesting.

Like the ambient sounds, lighting and visuals. I really like the underwater areas though, but get too pricked for that by some bots and too many jump pads all over the place, it's quite rather embarrassing in small amounts. Otherwise, fun map, gameplay's not bad and the bots are better, except for being stucked for pathing to the Rocket Launcher area and a lack of underwater paths.

PS: Just download from SkaarjMaster's post above and you're on set.
