Gold guns won't stay as MP defaults

It happens to me i think TU4 made my lancer stronger again i'm dropping peeps quicker with it so i gave up on my hammerburst back to golden still its right beside the burst anyway so i just hit RB or LB cant think now that im away from my console

it's annoying that they don't stay set as your default weapon, I have no trouble with my default characters and there's even more of them than there are guns. I don't understand why there should be a problem with the weapons resetting everytime I load the game.

I heard its a precautionary method to stop people downloading them if you recover your account on another xbox. Thats only what I've heard and it makes sense, since only a limited number of gold guns were given away to make us feel that little bit more... 'special' if everyone had them then you wouldn't be able to gloat about your gold HB

I have had this issue too.. As far as i know its still messed up.

It's because the game has to load DLC when it boots up, but it loads the other content on the disc before the DLC. Hence, it reads that you DON'T have the DLC, and so resets itself. It's lame and it should process the DLC after loading it, but hey, that's Gears of War 2 for you.

all you gotta do is load the game before you sign in your profile.

i think they did fix it cus even if i go to the dashboard and play another game when i switch back to gears its still my default.

are you already signed in when the game loads? when i do it i have my golden HB as default.

usally when the EPIC logo (with all the picures) come up i hit the guide button and sign in.

It's not fixed because the suggested solution causes a second problem.

Problems:
1) If you sign in before the game loads, then gold hammer burst isn't default.
2) If you sign in after the game loads, then your achievement records don't show up. i.e. You generally only get about 7 pages of achievements in your log instead of the 20-something pages.

So if you solve one problem, something else breaks either way. This game should have come out this past spring or this fall. It has so many problems. I'm actually hoping for a GOW3 Spring or Fall 2010 release so they don't run into all this again. I can wait.

#1- yes. but ive gone from gears 2 to the dashboard then back to gears 2 and still had the gold gun as default(no idea why/how).
#2- if you straight to the achievement list, no. but if you go to multiplayer and back to the list they will all show up.

ive been told that signing in during the loading screen can cause a rank reset but ive had problems signing in after the game loads. for example: since i played gears 1 i have the older characters, when i signin after the game loaded it says characters unlocked, but when i sign in duing the loading screen i dont get that......

Hey I don't own a Golden Gun but I totally agree with the dude. I'm not crying or complaining to any extent but I think they look rubbish, as do the golden guns on Call of Duty 4.

Press "RB" when gathering party members and go to "multiplayer options". From here you can set it as default weapon.

Personally I do not like the gold guns but it would not be bad if they gave you costumization like in army of two 40 day. Were you could so if it silver and some red or black just different colors.
