Just curious but what is your sound chip??
I have P4@3.7 and my bro 2.0 c2d. We both played nicely, with no crashes. But, try disabeling one of your cores. I know some people with same problems on other games that solved the problem by doing this. So, try
Its a longshot but try adding this:
..to your warengineusersettings.ini file. You'll have to fill in the values that match your sound card. The Device name can be found by going to "Sound and Audio Devices". Its the first thing on your Volume tab. Thats assuming you have XP. Vista should be similar. It will be something like "SB Audigy 4 Audio "
If your confused about that just google Gears and [ALAudio.ALAudioDevice] and do some reading.
I used to crash alot on my Audigy 2 ZS but after some tweaking of the warengineusersettings.ini I have not crashed in a long while.
thanx max255 and Ashrak, but nothin' works whit your suggestions. It's just really weird... Anyway, thanx for all
Hi people, it has passed a lot time since my problem and I've finally solved:
Everything was the famous windows "kernell.dll" file, maybe it was corrupted and it only affected to Gears, so I looked for everything related and finally I'd formated windows and Gears worked again.
Thanx for everybody who watched for my problem, really thanx.
