Comments: I guess it's about time I announced this here. Autotaunts now work, however, voicepacks for UT3 still have to be assigned to an existing model in order to work. Hopefully this will be fixed one day. However, I have made one breakthrough regarding the order sounds.

2012 update: I've uploaded a new version which fixes a few errors.

Oh, sick! This was one of my favorite custom VPs for UT2K4, hope you (or someone else) can fix the autotaunt thing. Btw, is this a port of the 2K4 pack, or did you make this one from scratch?

Edit: perhaps you could get in touch with the guy from this thread, he's made a lot of (apparently functional) custom VPs.

It's made from scratch.
I wish I could fix the autotaunts, I suppose I could look into it again, but the ut3 engine is not something one can get their heads round easily. This is something Epic should fix in the next patch. However, I'll give it one last shot.

It's quite easy to set up an account, all u need is an email address. But OK, I'll see if I can upload it somewhere else.

That's a great idea, someone also needs to fix the autotaunts and menu so the full potential of the voicepack can be realised.

Apologies coolcat22, I never got round to uploading it to my site, probably cause I've run out of space.
It's easy to set up a levels4you account, all you need is an email address. That's probably where my future voicepacks will go now.

Note: I'd be more inspired to make voicepacks if in this version they behaved exactly as they did in UT99. (Hint

)

Well I finally got round to installing patch 4 and was quite pleased to say the least when I realised it fixed the autotaunts.

This is a major breakthrough as far as i'm concerned.
Now i'm interested in knowing how they were fixed and would be grateful if someone could shed some light on that.

However, Thanks to all involved in fixing the autotaunts.

Good idea, i've sussed out how to put the ini file data in a folder as i've seen done with custom models, so once that's tried and tested i'll upload it. Probably tomorrow.

OK, so a day to me lasts 3 months. Apologies for leaving this so long, other things happen. These days I'm less into gaming like I used to be, although I still have the odd blast now and then. I still haven't decided if i'll do any more voicepacks or not.

Back to the voicepack. It's modified so the UTCustomChar.ini dosen't have to be edited. - full instructions in read me.

Alright i was gonna be nice guy and add it to our database but since you only included a *&^&^%** site where you must register to download which is ultimately *&$#^&$ i'm gonna skip this file for now...

So either provide a link that allows downloading without registering or i ain't gonna add it :P

I suppose what's been putting me off making any more is the difficulty. However, now I know there's still interest... Ok, i'm gonna be finishing something and uploading it soon.

I'm sure I read somewhere that if one registers with filefront they will keep the file online permanently so I'll sort that out.

B.t.w, I didn't think filefront was a *&^&^%** site! Unless your talking about levels4you which I also don't think is a *&$#^&$ site. Hardly rocket science creating a username and password is it? Like you have to do for this site to post things.

Does that make this site ultimately *&$#^&$?

I hope you find the time to put in the necessary work.
UT3 is a bit lacking in the voice pack area and I think they add a great deal of fun to the game.
I got the GOW character models primarily for the voices. The combination of Ally McBeal muttering on about her boyfriends and a couple of the GOW voices has me in stiches.

I must admit, I almost gave up on UT3 due to playing on a now dated computer with a 128mb graphics card. It ran cr*p! Well guess what, I have recently had a serious upgrade. I've re-installed UT3 and it really is 'The way it's meant to be played'!
It's like having a whole new game.

Thanks for uploading Miss McBeal to the UT3files site.
I tried creating an account with them, they sent me a user name and password, however, when I try to login It says invalid.

I think it's because they've given me an ftp login only, how would I obtain an actual account with the site so I can edit any of my future uploads?

Sadly, things aren't going to well. The voicepack dosen't work in 'player' mode for some reason. I get the default female voicepack instead. It works in Bot mode. Other customised models work. I don't understand this. I think it may be something to do with the Titan mod but why would only my voicepack be affected and not others.

Ok, at this point I really need some help from expert unrealscript programmers, (even the game designers if possible).

Something very strange has happened. Since re-installing UT3 my McBeal voicepack dosen't work properly. If I set it as an ingame bot, either on my team or opposing team it works fine. However, if I have it as 'me' i.e. 'customize character' and select Ally Mcbeal, the voice in game reverts to the 'jester' character which is the model I patched the voicepack to.

I've analysed and re-edited all relevant uc files, checked the customchar, checked if anythings changed in utfamily.info since the update patches, changed a few things here and there. All to no avail.

What i'm going to do is create a new voicepack from scratch using a different character and see what happens. In the meantime if there are any experts out there that could maybe analyse the voicepack and give a solution I would be very grateful and would also resume making voicepacks.

Different... anyway, still having problems with my own voicepack, that's why I gave up. If someone can shed some light on what's happened (see above post) I may be able to do voicepacks again.

Hey Syex, if you want this voice pack that will worked on a player, change your CharID value to any name (max. 15 chars) on your current Ally McBeal's UTCustomChar.ini and save it; assume it will works. If you're making some more voice packs for UT3 and does not work on a player (just only the bot), write any name on the CharID value for the next release. Anyway, this VP is really my favorite on behalf, never watched the show before. Thanks!

I don't believe it! How could I have missed that? Thanks ever so much Tux Android, you are a star! I changed the CharID to "Ally" and it worked. I still don't understand how once it worked then didn't, however, that dosen't matter now. The only other problem I have is the order menu is in Russian?! which is probably something to do with the familyinfo.uc. Once I iron out this problem and one or two other glitches, I'll see about re-uploading the voicepack.

Ok, it's done, I've fixed it! (massive sigh of relief!)

Will this ever end?

I've since realised this voicepack didn't work with domination so i've tweaked it one last time and now it does. I've started a new thread here: Ally McBeal Voicepack 2012. Hopefully this is it! More voicepacks soon.
