    Hey Davision, what I really meant about the skirt was to ask you how you were able to animate it to flow like that in the game.. I suppose you used the ronin bone setup to use those bones?

    I think a gods name dont really fit to him because he looks human and should be still a warlord, pharaos names fit much better.
    I think will go with Amenophis for the char, sounds kinda cool and the pharaos name sounds close to Apophis which is a god that is illustrated as a snake.
    For the bots i pick: Ramses, Imhotep and Nehebkau

    @ rals
    Currently there is no support for custom materials and a lot of other things on the PS3. So for instance the gold wouldnt look like gold. But if epic patches that i will try to make a ps3 version.

    No i needed to add my own bones, because the ronin bones wouldnt fit, also they were not in the max file anyway. To animate them i had to make a custom physic asset, the big shoulder shields are also physic animated, they can extend through it.

    Cool model, only thing that needs to be looked at is the boot selection menu as it changes the shoulders. Must have done that for UVspace. Epic should give the ability to change that.

    Amazing model Davison

    I found a slight bug with the model is that the left hand has no thumb when ragdolled instead it has a area of grey polygons:

    This problem is not there on the right hand which has a human skin thumb:


    Trust me to spot the tiniest of bugs, anyways excellent model and voicepack although to be honest I had trouble understanding him.

    *EDIT* after looking at another UT3 male their left thumbs do a similar thing except they are pulled closer to the hand and clip the palm instead of being pulled inside. *EDIT*

    yea i did that with the shoulders because of the uvspace, it really sucks allways haveing to use that uvw layout epic made.

    @ Thanatos
    Nice find! Thats a very strange bug because the finger are not physic animated and it only happens when ragdolled ingame. Cant do much about it for now, so he will keep loseing his finger when get ragdolled .

    But i have fixed something else concerning the hands, the specular layer of the hands were off in the texture. Cant be really noticed if you dont know about, so theres no need to redownload it.

    Why not just unrig his troublesome thumb from the skeleton so its free. Thats one of the problems with epic's rig is the thumb. It has always caused a major thorn in my @$$ because it deforms wrong in game. It's easy to manually bend the thumb around on a comfortable position so it looks good holding a gun and rig it to the hand bone.

    Just tried a game of TDM. When I switched to blue, I was the demoguy
    model is awesome. When on red I was on a team with a bunch of Egyptian bots. They all looked the same though. Do any of the bots have alternative clothing options or was I not looking hard enough?

    That is a good idea, i will do that for the next version along with the fpv arms and some other new stuff.

    The teamskins work fine for me! Maybe you had more then 11 custom char bots selected? Because there can only be 12 custom chars in a game.
    All the bots have different setups, if you can see a difference between them you are really a bit blind!

    Mmm i dont know if i was the only one with this problem, i got the faction from RuneStorm of the 3 new chars they release, and the problem was, when i run my ut3 the Warlord Faction doesnt appear but i have two RuneStorm Factions close and open ut3 again and i was having 3 RuneStorm Factions , i only could put the Warlord Faction Manually and disable the faction line from Your ini and RuneStorm ini (and of course delete the excess of runestorms factions in my customchar.ini) , any idea why this thing happen?

    Heres what I have noticed, and Epic should do something about this because its f**king up the quality of other models. But the ch_alien model has a custom script for "UI_Scenes_CamuraiLayout" and that does screw with some things so I hope the judges know this before judging everyone with that installed. That could be one of the sources of your problems shak, so check for that.
    Someone notify Epic of this, they seem to enjoy ignoring my requests :P

    i have the same problem with the model of runestorm when i install 1 its oke but when install nummer too i have too override thing but i thit not do that and the model work good now all you can do is too go too the site of runestorm and tell them about the problem

    The Runestorm chars are not only messing up my char also any other custom faction that is installed after the runestorm char!! When you have the runestorm faction installed and want to install another custom char you will only get a 2nd Runestorm faction in the selection.


    I have found a fix:
    I believe its the runestorm zombie customchar.ini that is messing it up. In the faction line there is a simple + missing
    \UTGame\Published\CookedPC\RuneStorm\CH_Cx_Zombie

    To ensure that there is only one Runestorm faction i did also this

    But i guess the guys at epic are smart enough to see that!

    Its the same with the rodents faction. The custom physics result in a new weighting that is not perfect and also the custom bones get broken on the hoverboard, that makes the weighting even worse.

    Me dont like it either! That is mostly related to the shoulderpad custom bones that get broken when driving the shoulder pad, like i said above it messes up the weighting. There is nothing i can do keeping the bones from being destroyed on the hoverboard.

    You can do that! The big shoulderpads are in the boots section. But the skeleton will stay the same, so you will still have the weighting problem on the hoverboard.

    -isnt facemask #13 the same as #14?
    Oops, yea there went something wrong... too many mask variations.

    I got that, so I just deleted the customchar.ini and reloaded the game and everything was fine.

    Wouldn't worry too much about it. If I was a judge I would delete the My games folder everytime I wanted to test a new character since your bound to run into compatability probs.

    Speaking of compatibility I found it a good idea to delete UTCutomChar.ini everytime I install a new model. This fixes the Runestorm/Xeno problem along with some others.

    Think it's because of this method everyone been using lately to make the models easier to install

    K this model is awsome, lots of customization options. the shoulder pads seem to want to fall of sometime and get messed up after taunting too much.

    One thing I don't like though is the voicepack, can't make out a word what he's saying...

    Look, i havent had any probs, except for the hoverboard thing, but its okay, cuz its funny. and you can have just the small shoulder pads, just hit "toggle shoulderpads."
    - i have a pic i'll put it on my profile thing, cuz its not on a website and i dont feel like putting it on one.

    I have over 3 dozen custom models installed and all do it this method(Davision's too) and no probs whatsoever.
    Only time you run into problems is when your edit your UTCustomchar.ini and remove a line or edit it. Then it gets overwritten with redundent data and will cause conflicts. So its probably a good practice to run the character after installing it and then leaving the ini alone, unless you either delete the one in the *character name* folder where the master ini is or rename it.
