    Map - Deathmatch (PC/PS3) DM-Slime

    Name: DM-Slime
    Version: 1.1
Compatibility: PC And PS3 (thanks to The Demon Slick for PS3 cooking)
Description: This is my first UT3 map (I made it in March and then reviewed it in August). It takes place in a factory where you can find two acid pools and plenty of weapons. As this is my first map, it's not very big, but it's not so bad.

not bad at all, much better than my first map. i do suggest though adding more static mesh, and also breaking up your textures a bit. you don't want to be to repetitive, gets boring after a while. hope that helps

There's a tutorial here on cooking for PS3 that a lot of mappers have found useful. Either that, or if you PM me a link for the uncooked version of the map, I'll try to cook it for you? One thing though, custom sounds / music don't work on PS3 ...

héhéhé i want to see those alliens more close
    D/L

Edit:just played it and in classical DM i must say that i have found some parts of the map with fine finitions and some areas a bit empty
....but after that i tryed it in zark in insta and in ultra instagib and WOW .....pure insta map with those long corridors and large rooms

dunno if it me but some times i had the feeling to respawn on the broken part of the "bridge " on the acid bath and i hav not find the way to go out it 90% of the time...so was some strange respawns/death lol

    thx for ur job

As a first map, I'd say it's pretty good! Runs without any problems on my PS3

The layout's fast-paced, although it does tend to concentrate all the action into a couple of areas, most notably the main room. There's plenty of weaponry but I think it'd probably be a little better to space out the ammo a little more - make people work for it, and make them have to move away from the main room to get it!

There are some nice visual touches - I particularly like the overhead fan in the main room letting the rain through to pool on the floor. I also like the fog effect in the main room on the stairs/ramps up to the upper level; could be fumes coming of the slime pools, or weapon smoke, so adds nicely to the atmosphere

Overall, I like this map very much Thanks for letting it be cooked for PS3

Its good for a first map, but wouldn't worry about a PS3 version just yet. Save that your quality work. Maybe your second or third map. You should also try placing static meshes on the wall, ceilings, and floors maybe. And making the rooms flow together. Also, work a bit more on your lighting, try different schemes, and you'll find something you like
