    Default Importing a texture problem

Whenever I try to import a custom texture it gives me an error message. It says "Texture dimensions are not powers of two." When i click ok it says "Import failed." If anyone knows how to fix it please tell me. If it has something to do with the way i drew the texture please tell me how to fix it in GIMP.
    Heres a pic:

    Thanks in advance

to fix this, you need a texture with a resolution 512x512, 1024x1024, 2048x2048 and the like.

Hm, somebody should make a tutorial of how to make a custom texture. I never dived into this, but something tells me it's a little more than just a picture in photoshop.

A texture is a single image. A material is a compilation of textures to get a desired surface effect.

Also learning how to make textures from scratch and NOT from a photograph isnt as hard as it sounds and is far more rewarding.
