Hey guys listen , I dont know if u guys have seen the video of gears 2 on gametrailers showed on spike... if not there is (http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrai...p=27&sd=1&ch=1) by the way at like 4:05 there's Geoff asking for that cool execution which consist in rip off the arms of the cog and then use those to punch him(only locust).But the answer was..."that one its not gonna make it" so I said WTF!?!?

Tell me guys y they do that what do u think about that??
(I know that the video its old but just want to know what u guys think about that)

I think they thought it might have been too graphic although we see heads shot off and guts flying everywhere. But I really don't have any idea.

^ I don't think so. I think they removed it because they realised it would look silly. The execution really does seem ridiculous and I never was looking forward to it. There are also some forum members that hated it from the beginning, so yeah...

They may have felt that it took too long to perform and they didn't feel they could shorten it in any way without ruining the move so they decided to scrap it. Not sure if this is the case but apart from this I can only think that its too violent. I mean ripping off someones arm and beating them with it is certainly a step above curb stomping someone.

While it was a dumb idea for an execution, I was looking forward to ripping the arms off my friends. It would definetly cause alot of laughter. I wasn't too dissapointed though when I heard it was canceled.

Oh and TBH-I think the 1-2 punch execution is pretty dumb. To me an execution isnt an execution unless some kind of body part is either severed or completely destroyed. I can already tell that most players will stick with the weapon execution or just shooting the person.

I doubt it, I'm sure a lot of people will be more than willing to get a locust down and smash their face in. I know I will.

To me the execution is perfect, but it shares the same problem as the lancer in GOW-sound. Sound has always been a large part of gaming for me, and it should be for anybody else with a kickass speaker system. The punching animation is really cool, but....how to put this without sounding dumb.....I dont think Im gonna FEEL the punches, you know?

W/E. My arguement is pretty lame. Lol.

That is the worst new execution, IMO. I expected the head to burst in the end or something, but nothing happens. It's just three quick punches with minimal blood. The lamest and most boring finishing move in the game.

I don't care why the didn't put it in the game.

It just looks retarded and silly. And it looks like it takes too long. Epic made a wise decision.

I mean c'mon! A locust ripping off someone's arm and starts beating him with it would just look silly. I would just stick to the curb stomp or punch his brains out. Just my opinion.

Nope Cliff said you can still be killed while doing executions. He said it in this one interview.

Not enough time? They did so much work on game mechanics and animations. But they didn't have enough time to make one execution, when there is like more than ten?

Something above M? Yes, AO. It means no retailer will sell it for fear of destroying their reputation. It's still possible to get it, but it's difficult and would quite efficiently kill the game.

Other question: No, which I suspect will make executions in mp a suicide move (not that they weren't already, anyway.)

It was the Locust opposite to the 3-punch execution, so it would take the same amount of time.

I seem to recall he said they didn't have it ready yet in time to show, which is why Locust were doing the 3-punch in the videos that came out around that time.
I think the word that it was cut came out later...

its doesnt really bother me that it was cut out. its porbably due to it not looking or feeling right. nothing to do with ESRB.
i agree with the some of the people above and on the previous page about the 3 head punch execution not looking or "feeling" right. i think all it needs is a good camera angle, like if the camera was to look like this while your doing it.

I feel that it needs just one more punch in there; it seems like it just stops too abruptly, and you just get up and continue on like nothing happened.

if the locusts had a arm ripping execution i dont think anyone would want to play as COG, besides for the few (and face it, few) people who find it to be horrible.

i heard somewhere that it was for team balancing issues as well as all the other BS they named off.. but yeah. what would you rather do? punch him or rip is FREAKING ARM OFF?!

EDIT: i always moved for a "ripping his head off with your bare hands" execution. something quick like a curb stomp, but instead of using your boot you grab his face with both hands

yeah, i think that most will just shoot em, i do that the most when theres alot of people around. but if someone like teabags me, on like curbstomps, or lets me bleed out, i definatly teabag, hit with smoke, shoot around him, then curbstomp, it gets people expremely po'd.

and btw they should have a knife execution dont all the cogs have knives? i know dom has one on his chest and i think marcus has a knife on his boot.
it would be sweet if the executions also had a personal touch so the curb stomp from marcus is a bit different then coles and bairds.

i think it should be one extremely lethal punch. the cog draws his fist all the way back and you hear the locusts neck snap as he comes down with it. maybe a bit more blood that splurts up as well?

maybe not a neck snapping punch as that would be insane for anyone to do. maybe a nose breaking and going inside the skull punch... as that would most likely kill you.

Becuase they want the game to come out this year.

That feature was disscussed bassically after everything else was done.

It wont make it into the game becuase it will take to long to finish.

I so agree, it needs one more punch to really smash their face in!!!

As for the arm rip thing I will say it again, it reall doesn't flow with the game + it will take forever to kill someone by hitting them with their own arm, they would probably bleed out first. It's just dumb.
