Do I have to have google sketchup 7 pro to do this, or can I just use google sketchup 7? because I just finished making my map all white-side-in, but I still don't get how to do the actual converting. :/

No, I didn't know what you meant when you said to "put it in the directory". Sorry for being difficult, but like I said, I'm not to tech savvy. :P

Edit: I think I got it; I just dragged it into the plugins folder for sketchup right? but now I still don't know where to go or what to click to add the "Plugins" option to the bar at the top, right now I only have: File, Edit, View, Camera, Draw, Tools, Window, and Help

Edit 2: omg, it works now! I love you! X)

Ok I'm having some issues again; when you said in the tutorial to go to unlit mode, I don't know where that button is, because my editor is for UT2k4, and the one you used in your tutorial was for UT3. X)

The best exporter for creating custom content in sketchup
But it lacks the ability to set the output scaling it is much easier for me to make buildings in meters and want to define 100 UU as 1 meter. is this possible? or could you tell me where i should edit the script to make this happen? thanks in advance

Hello . I have downloaded your plugin for my su. But I can not import the mesh with texture . After the step "geometry for current level",it showed "map should have killZ set" and "brush_5 :brush has null matial reference(s)".So ,when I execed the step "clean bsp matials" ,it can not do well. The texture can not be imported. Why? Thanks a lot!

Hello and thank you. I am so happy because I can import meshes with textures. But the size of the texture imported has been changed. Something wrong with it ?

First make sure you have a textured cube like this
and that the texture has the UnrealMaterial name (not the UnrealTexture Name):

After just export it in a t3d file.

Now open it with NOTEPAD or any simple text editor.
Yes the T3D file are text format.
With notepad do the open command
    go to the file directory
and write "*.t3d" in the file name box
to be able to see the exported:

Now you will search the UnrealMaterial name to make sure
that the plugin/sketchup has no problem so get the search dialog box
And write the material name and click "Find next" like this:

If notepad move along the text and highlight the texture name in the text
then the plugin does the job in a correct way like this
else somthing is bad and PM me and sens me the t3d file.

Now import you texture into a UnrealPackage
and make sure you have a UnrealMaterial linked to UnrealTexture like this:

    Now import your T3D file:

Now rebuild all and check in unlit mode if the brush is there,

you will see that the brush is not textured even
if I have the material loaded and present,
this is because I have not saved the package that contain the material.

    Hope this help.
Remember that if the UnrealMaterial is not already loaded
when importing the UnrealMaterial will be not applyed in UnrealEd.

I've once installed it, and found out it's also compatible with the UDK.
Surely because the UDK is a modified version of UT3.
but I've got a new machine now, and I've forgot the directory of the Ruby Script that forms the plugin.
Can you tell me where to paste it in the Google Sketchup directory?
(BTW, my Sketchup version is Google Sketchup 8. is the plugin compatiable with it?)
Why doesn't Epic develop a remake of the original Unreal? It'll be cool to see what the first Unreal game looks like with 8Th gen graphics.

I'm not having any luck with this. Each time I try and import the t3d it crashes UDK. Are there rules about how you build the geometry? What are these export options for t3d? Any idea what's causing it to crash?

    Hey
First of all, I want to thank you for the great plugin!

Sorry if this is already somewhere, but could you please link me to it then.
I tried *.T3D before but when i try to import it into UT3, the editor crashes because the model has to many faces I think, because when I import simple models it doesn't crash. The max amount of faces lies between 300-400 I think. And that's way to less for what I want to import.

So I export my model as *.ase file, importing goes well. I have the model as a static mesh in the map and it works as it should. But there is 1 problem, and that it the texture.

My question is, how can I add textures to an static mesh that is imported into my Generic Browser?

    Ok....
Thanks for your fast reply, I really appreciate that!
    I'm abit confused still.

    Ok so for example:
I made a model, for the ease, I made a cube.
Then went to the paint bucket, gave it a color (red), call it "ThisIsMyMap.MyMaterial.Material" (The texture size was 256" by 256") and colored all the sides of the cube.
After that I exported my model as an *.ase file, lets say, I called it "Test.ase"
From there I open up my map on UT3, which is called "ThisIsMyMap".
I went to my Generic Browser, clicked File -> Import... and opened "Test.ase"
    I dropped it in
    Package: ThisIsMyMap
    Group: MyMaterial
    Name: Material
Then when I click the package "ThisIsMyMap" and in the group "MyMaterial" I see my model named "Material".

But now, where do I get the texture from? It's not like it's in that folder right away (didn't expect that to happen)
EDIT: Ok I found thatone out lol, ofcourse I just had to import the 256" by 256" texture into the group "Material"
But from there I don't really understand how you get it connected to the model itself?
I thought when you have the texture there, you click New Material and drop the texture in there to color up your material by connecting Diffuse and the BlackBox from ur texture...? but then what?

Could you please explain me how to continue, or even tell me, where did I go wrong? Where is the mistake?

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: I was also following this tutorial after he dropped the actual model in UT3 http://www.moddb.com/games/unreal-to...sh-for-unreal3
