    Default Warfire map W.I.P.

    Hi everybody. I'm new here but not new in games, I enjoyed Unreal since it's first appearance, now with all ut3 capabilities I decided with my friends to make a map (maybe for make something unreal contest)

    I started with vehicles to define a vision of the map's universe. I don't know yet how deep will we go with it, will it be only the map and vehicles, or characters also...

    here are a couple of images, so please feel free to advice or comment.

    Hi guys, I don't have working models yet, just static meshes, my goal is to build all the geometry from scratch. I'm very inspired by the art of HAWKPREY - http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=42433 , http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31497 , http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=67477 .
    Guys at Epic are doing tremendous amount of great work for UT series, I hope that I'll be able to approach a bit to their visions.
    Next I'll post a vehicle which will be a mix of a tank and a batmobile (yes, the last batmobile)

    Now I have a better look of the Hovercicle and an improved texture for the Crawling Fortress unit, which is a test unit, I don't think it will find its place on the map

    Hi, there is a next vehicle which will replace the fortress tank, I have no place for it on the map and it was just a test. This one is inspired by the new batmobile


    I still have to define its functionality.

    I think the shapes look a little more interesting now. Are you doing these sketches in Photoshop or something?

    Thank you guys. As I said, my goal is to create a warfire map by replacing all the existing geometry, but not the mechanics, that's why that hover looks the same to viper, i need it to behave same

    Hi, I finished the final details for the vehicle, its unwrap, occlusion and now it is being textured, meanwhile I want to define better the overall look of the map and do more sketches of it, maybe some rough 3D soon, I saw the winners, congratulations to them really good stuff. Now I have one year till the next contest.

    Thank's LtClifff. I don't want to sound dumb, but I don't know yet what a replacement mutator is . But for sure will find in the process...
    So, here is a new look at the map design, after this I think that I will start modeling it

    P.S. I hope I didn't broke any copyright law by putting the UT3 logo ??? (It is just so awesome )

    Hi, I'm continuing my map, here is a start in zbrush and a quick atmosphere render in 3D max. Please don't complain about no engine screens, it's a long W.I.P. and I'll definitely get there

    lol your worried about complaing well i am the usal guy to complain but im impressed youve gotten a tromendouse amount of work done in so little time infact you have earned my respect and it takes alot of work to do that no complaints here keep up the good work

    Hi everybody. recently I saw this very useful thread http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=609411 which lets you extract original UT models which I neded for comparation, here is a quick render of what I needed to see. So what I've learned from it is that I need less polygons and a good normal map.



    P.S. Originals look damn awesome (an example for design schools)

    Question, In Unreal ED I can put additional normalmap, but can it be a grayscale bumpmap like in the image below?
