    Default Gears character in 3ds format?

    Hey, now don't kill me or nothing...

    But I had a thought, I'd like to have a go at building one of my own Gears characters in 3D Studio Max, so having a reference model would be super helpful. Are there any places I could download a 3ds model of one of the Gears characters?

    Yeah, admittedly I don't know much about the Gears PC editor since my comp is too creaky to run it...

    Yeah, I tried opening it in 3DS Studio Max 7, but couldn't because there were too many missing DLL's. Shame, it looked really nice from the thumbnails too.

    Sweet! I'm interested in trying to create Kiyoko, (check link below) but I'm a little out of practice on 3D stuff, and I never was any good at rigging poly models for animating. But hey, I can model and texture, just really, really slowly.

    Finally found something, I forgot how time consuming it is to even just do a basic lighting set-up in 3DS Max.



    Anyways, this is from some long abandoned game project I was asked to be involved in. I was supposed to do some twenty casual street characters. I should have known it would never happen since the project leader was around fourteen years of age, and there was no funding involved. Lol. It's from a couple of years ago, before normals and other advances in low poly modeling. The actual poly count is just under 8,000. Still, it shows that I can texture (even model, when forced to...lol...). I have worked professionally as a texture artist, but I'd consider myself competent at best. So, having some actual models to use as reference would be a massive help in getting things to look right, and helping me in getting the geometry as close to the real deal as possible.

    Ok boss I need you on our team. Me and phayte are working on a warhammer 40k mod. Oh and here a link to the marcus reference model in max format http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/GearsMods.html At the bottom of the page. Are you sure that was just under 8000 poly's? Doesn't look like it.
