Golden Lancer nonsense...? (hopefully)

You see that's where you are wrong. Bungie aren't the ones making HALO Wars. Ensemble are making HALO Wars. Which means HALO Wars isn't one of the three Bungie projects.

Ok, lets start here.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for a gold plated lancer to Ruin MP, to Ruin MP would take various glitches and bugs to exploit to make it unfair the gold plated lancer will just annoy you if you don't like it.

Honestly it's not like it's gonna be shooting sniper bullets at you so it's pretty ignorant to say it's gonna ruin MP.

Next, the maps are larger and more intricate there are places to hide and sneak around so unless your playing total idiots you probably won't always see their gold plated lancer all the time.

Also everyone seems to think the gold plated lancer is gonna shine like someone solidified the sun and put it on your gun, but the GoW universe gives a sort of Gothic feel so the gold will probably be dingy and dust covered not some flamboyant gold that'll be bright enough to drive off the kryll.

Honestly I feel that if you don't like the gold plated lancer then just kill anyone that has one until they leave the game then you can be satisfied.

You are right, though. It's simple, really. Halo 3 did well because of its massive install base. Call of Duty 4 did well because of its large install base, in combination with word of mouth (all of my friends at separate times told me that it was ****ing awesome and that I had to get it). Gears of War did well because of the hype train, but now that it has that beginning install base it will really grow into something extraordinary for the second and third games.

What do you mean "remained #3"? It was #1 while after it was released. The very first day HALO 3 was released, it was #1. Which made GoW #2. Some time later, after CoD4's release, it was #1. Pushing Gears to #3. I don't think it has moved up to #2 OR #1 since then. That's why I say that no one came back to it.

It remained #3 because the people who didn't leave to other games are still there. The people who DID, haven't come back.

I have no hope for World at War. I thought Call of Duty 3 was an absolute mess of a game and it made me lose all faith in Treyarch.

I think CoD4 will probably remain above World at War. Maybe not at launch, but sooner or later people will return to the fouth one. I think it's just that we've all grown accustomed to the new weaponry and advanced technology that it seems ridiculous to take a step backwards and go back to what we had before. I agree on the MLG part. And Gears 2 being #1 will happen, of course, upon it's release, with CoD4 or HALO 3 in #2. Even "hardcore" fanboys of HALO will play it, but in the end, they are "HALO fanboys", which means sooner or later, they will go back to HALO.

And since the "hardcore" fanbase is larger, Gears 2 'might' not be #1 very long.

not really. MLG has put alot of money into the gears circut with almost no sponsership. that must mean alot of people like it. and gears is so much more tactical than halo 3 wishes it could be when it grew up. i wouldnt be suprised if gears 2 became the most played competitively shooter

I think Gears 2 will be the perfect "take-cover" shooter. I always wanted a game like that but Gears 1 wasn't really about that. I say that because of the Shotgun battles in Gears 1.
