problems with xlive.dll AND appdata error when installing service pack

the game installs fine then asks if I'm ready to play i click yes and it says it can't start because it can't find the xlive.dll file I think its called. It says to download the update service pack 2 at gamesforwindows.com, i do this and try to run it and it then tells me an error has been caused trying to create the appdata folder in my users file on windows vista. It is the administrative account and the appdata folder is there already. Plz help so I can install and play, my computer is a gateway 9600 quadcore with an 8800nvidia geforce gt

Where did you run the .msi file from? Were you prompted by UAC?

Please perform the following steps to capture a log file of your install failure and send it to me in a private message. We should be able to figure it out from there.

1) press the windows key + R
2) enter "cmd" and press enter.
3) at the command prompt, type: msiexec /l %USERPROFILE%\xliveredist.txt <location of the msi file>
4) follow the install instructions.

The log file 'xliveredist.txt' will be located in your C:\users\adminstrators folder.
