Are you guys getting the Limited Edition or Standard GOW 2 and why ?

Limited Edition 100%. Purely for the lush tin case and the making of - all the other stuff is just a nice little bonus. I love seeing well made Making Of videos, since it's just so interesting to get an inside look at how the game was made.

Limited Edition, because uh, I am a Gears of War die-hard fan, I love supporting Epic because they are making arguably the best game for years to come. But specifically the tin/box-art for the LE looks sick, and I LOVE watching those making-of DVDs and I want to read the book that comes with it as well.

I preordered the LE and I'm going to get the LE. However, I think I might get the Standard as well so I have a backup in case the disc gets scratched and so I have the traditional cover art.

Well I'm going to buy the limited edition I not sure the pricing of the limited edition but I'm pretty sure it's about maybe 10 dollars more than the standard edition which is definitely worth the extra 10 dollars and I have a collection of limited edition games already like: Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4 and GTA4 and considering Gears is my favourite game of all-time how can I not get the limited edition and I always found the Behind the Scenes entertaining because I always wanted to know the lives of the people who made the game and hoping for some Gears goodies to put around in my room =P

Marth, we should have a LAN when it comes out, I am in Irvine at least once a week, my bro goes to UCI, and I know a lot of people here locally that play. I have had a LAN before with a few friends I met over XBL for Gears 1 and it was pretty sick. It would be 10x that for Gears 2 just because the game is better.

You could stick dogcrap in the LE for a big title game and I'd buy it. I just feel special games need the special tin case and deserve the extra money spent - there are alot of games I skip the limited edition for unless it's worth getting (like Bad Company's Gold Edition). Just a habit of mine, but I just always have done that for 360.

I never really thought about ever getting the LE for any game. But, I might just wind up buying the LE for this game. Just for the fact for a cool lookin' Lancer, and a few extra bonuses. Its always interesting to see what goes into making the game.

Still undecided though, but I'm considering it.

This is what gets me. This golden lancer. Why not a Hammerburst as well? I mean honestly, I'm not touching the lancer most probably in Gears 2. The hammerburst allows you to fan and is apparently more powerful than the lancer - once I learn how to control the recoil, why would I bother with the lancer, y'know?

That's why I hope there is a gold version of the Hammerburst, because I'll use it. I will use the lancer in player matches with friends, or if it turns out to be just as good, but the new hammerburst really appeals to me.

I have had a LAN before with a few friends I met over XBL for Gears 1 and it was pretty sick. It would be 10x that for Gears 2 just because the game is better.

I rarely play LAN, except in my cousins house on random Saturday nights. It is indeed sick. Having everyone play with no lag shows you just how skillful you really are against other players. No one is at a disadvantage.

So yeah, once Gears 2 is released, you'd best bring it on, CLONE! =D

PS. Where in Cali are you exactly? I always seem to think you're from San Fran (don't know why <_<), but it's now apparent you're in the south.
