In the link below, Rod Ferguson talks about new enemies and why there will possibly not be 4 player Co-op, however though, the reasons he stated are comple bull****, somewhere around 7 minutes(estimate), Rod talks about how 4 player Co-op detracts from the story....you have got to be kidding, aren't Cole and Baird involved in the story too, maybe not as much as Marcus and Dom, but hell Epic, look at the others that want 4 player Co-op, 32(yes)-5(no), hopefully Epic will think this over more thoroughly and change their minds.

You have no idea how much time, effort, and money would be wasted creating a 4-player co-op story, it would detract from the story insanely, who would be the main group of characters? Surely not the original Delta Squad, and how would they be able to expand on any of the new characters (good and bad) if they have to focus so much on the 4 *main* players and their stories?

The game's storyline often has you and Dom alone. Not only would it make no sense to have Baird and Cole throughout the entire game, but it will make the experience far too simple. The game is easy enough on coop with no risk of dying while downed (I really hope enemies will actually finish you off this time around, making coop somewhat difficult).

4 player coop is not needed and won't happen.

If they did add Cole and Baird, then what about Dizzy and Tai? They'll be left out! 2 players is fine with me, if you want to play with friends then I suggest you play MP instead.

It's not the fact that it distracts from the story. It's the fact that you will get people running ahead and triggering cut scenes. Which is what two player co-op stops from happening. It's a lot more intimate.

Four player co-op just doesn't fit in with this game. When will people understand this? Probably never since they don't take the time to understand things. But trust me, I am sure you will have a great experience with just 2 players.

As a long time co-op player, the smaller the group the better. The likelihood of finding 4 people who all want to play the same way you do (unless you just want to forgo any and all immersion and ruin the game) is f***ing impossible.
Especially on worthless public servers. One guy wants to speedrun it, someone else wants to team-kill and just get int he way as much as posisble, another guy doesn't know how to play, and here you are trying to get into the story and the immersion and getting shut-out by the guiys you're trying to play with.
Screw that. It would only work at lan parties, and still the likliehood of finding 3 other people who all want to play SP when there's DM to be had is minimal. Horde sounds perfect.
