Looks awesome, Battle Creek was my favorite Halo level, so this should be cool.

Just from the looks of the screenies I would say you need to work on those bunkers a little more. They seem too boxey and could use a few more meshes, to give them a better shape and look more realistic (eg a satellite dish or something).

I have a ps3 so I cant test this yet, but a few things I will comment based on screens.

+ The bases could be spruced up a bit as mentioned before, more/better meshes would help.

+ I would think that using a different texture for the surrounding mountains would be better. Something more along the original feel (brownish). The greenish texture you have now doesnt really fit as well imo.

+ I know its mentioned, but the creek is way too straight.

If i can find some better colors for the rocks then ill change them, aswell for the bases i know its not cooked for ps3 YET, but if you could give a few examples on how to spruce up the bases from the screens then itd be appreciated.

I have given it a go quickly and there are quite a few things I would suggest.

Firstly the bases need to be increased in size. Currently the corridors are far too narrow to allow comfortable gameplay, especially with a flagroom so small.

Secondly raise the height fog and lower its density as currently it awkwardly cuts off below the corridor roof looking a little out of place.

Apart from a general reworking of meshes, lighting and scale I don't know what else to say. Corridors definately need widening though.

You want this version cooked or do you want to wait until you make some more enhancemetns/bug fixes. I can cook it later on ... no later than tomorrow.

I like it, i don't think you need to change the bases, most of the fighting takes place outside anyway. i think they just don't like it cuz it doesn't look exactly like the original, which is fine for me

Thanks, ya my pics definatly dont do it much justice, i have to say but i did enjoy making this one and hopefully everyone enjoyed playing it, idk when im gonna get the final up cuz im still trying to figure out how to get the creek to actually look like a creek with out the use of terrain, its pretty hard tho so ill try to think of a good way to fix that but other than that im pretty confident wioth releasing it as a final.

Confirm that the PS3 versions run well, without any slow-down or frame-rate issues that I've seen

Never played Halo so can't comment on its similarity to the original, but IMO this is a fun map to play. Previous posters have some valid points - the bunkers probably could do with being a little bigger internally & they would look a lot better with a satellite dish or something similar on the roof, but that wouldn't stop me playing it

I prefer the CTF version - the DM version is still a fun map to play but IMO it could use a flak cannon, particularly in those narrow corridors inside the bunkers I like the fog volume combined with the neons in the tunnels, by the way

Nice map - as ever, thanks for allowing your work to be cooked for PS3

This runs nicly on PS3. It IS amazing how much better halo maps feel with UT gameplay. You have a really nice start here, but my advice to you would be...... don't be affraid to make this BETTER than the original. I think if you used a better more "rocky" texture for the rocks it would be great., currently it's kinda hard to tell where the grass ends and the rocks begin. Basically the same could be said for all the textures. A nice waterfall would add alot. This was one of the few Halo maps I enjoyed and I'd love some awesome visuals to go with the better gameplay. Basically I'm saying Don't be affraid to make a "next-gen" version of this map. Use the base you've got here, and just upgrade everything visually. I don't mean go crazy, but use that UE3. I'd love a next-gen version of this map. A CE version perhaps? Also the other person was right on about widening the hallways.

Thanks, I was planning on getting back to this soon, maybe this weekend, and yes i mostlikely will try to widen the walls. A water would be a nice touch, maybe some mist comming from it, Also, the caves, ill definatly fix, also might put abit of post process in there to make it more detailed. Maybe also some more realistic meshes to the bases and around for astetics. But that wont be till earliest this weekend. So i cant promise on when ill get to it though, as i have lots of projects im working simultaniously, but my main priority right now is releasing my third skin, getting the beta of disturbed out, then fixing up battle creek, then finishing varicolored vegetation, then getting Jungle Vista polished up for final aswell, then if there are any other problems left, finishing up volcanix for its final. But, yea as you can see battle creek is pretty high on my to-do list.
