    Default Computer shuts down!!!

I'm pissed atm. My computer has gone crazy lately. When it works it produces some strange noise and I can only watch movies, listen to music normally or just surf the net. When I wanna play something from the moment I get into a game the comp starts to creak like crazy and after 10 seconds it shuts down completely. What' the proooblem???

I did a week ago and I had a few. Some worm called brontok( infected 600 files) and trojan horse smarthooper but I nailed their ass. So u think they damaged something critical in the system?

It's possible. You may also have physical hardware issues, potentially brought about by said virii.

Sounds like something is about to die. If you are hearing creaking from electronic parts....and not the fans, it's usually a sign that something can't handle the load anymore. As a precaution, I would start removing all non essentiala parts like sound cards. Strip down to 1 stick of ram and test them one at a time....put the other part back in 1 boot at a time to see what causes the noise. I just went thru this with a wonky sound card that also chewed up my Video cards...I started getting wierd noises too.
Posting any error messages that you get from event viewer or problem reports might help shed some light on the issue.

Hell I can't do all that things you just mentioned, I don't even know what a sound card looks like(joke). I think I'm gonna send my PC to overhaulin cause clearly the problem is in hardware not software

Sounds like overheating. Check the temperatures of your GPU and processor by using rivatuner (for GPU) and speedfan (for CPU)

My brothers computer has automatically been shutting down lately because his case is small so it's already always hot, but it's gotten to 30C outside which doesn't help. His processor sits idle at about 50C and shuts off as soon as it hits 60C.

Although, we've heard no noise like you've described.

I agree, sounds like a hardware issue, unless the BIOS is damaged. Likely a CPU, MOBO, or GPU that does not want loaded up.

There are software utilities that you can monitor your temp with, you should do it. You can also look in your BIOS for PC health and check your CPU and chipset temps.
    I currently play as [T5K]Bobba_Novis, {T5K}Bobba_Novi, and Gi_96.

I found the cause of my problem, and yup it was overheating. The damn cooler on my graphics card(Radeon x800xl) isn't working and it's constantly overheating. So, can I just replace the cooler or do I have to buy a brand new graphics card?

You'll probably have to buy a new card.

hmm no ambershee. look at somewhere like overclockers.(depending if your in the uk)

there you can buy custom fans to fix on your card.you might have to do a little modifying but yes you can put a custom fan on it.
When you kill 6 people in Unreal Tournament 3 it's "Monster kill", In Quake III it's "Excellent", in Counter-Strike Source it's "Kicked by console".

Naw...they all spit UT3 out in coughing spurts
like they are choked with too much work, but not even close to reality in tests...
6 months of gettting a headache from playing UT3....crashes, stutter, glitching, input lag, not to mention insane lag online when certain players show up.
I'm still not playing, but testing and praying for fixes.
