Shee Labs Game Development: Recruitment (Updated 02/05/08)
The Shee Labs Game Development Mod Team has openings
Shee Labs Game Development are currently working on a singleplayer CyberPunk themed speed-running game, amongst other exciting projects, using Unreal Tournament 3 as it's driving force.
Striving to be different, the game is to support a vibrant, unusual game world, online statistics to compare leaders in the game, and even live-action filmed cut scenes to be used in the game environment itself.
The team is working quickly and has tight deadlines.
We are looking for reliable developers, with a passion for Unreal technology and a moderate level of skills. Developers must be able to work on various different tasks, and must be willing to adapt to the ever-changing requirement of deadline driven development.
We are currently looking for:
We require a fairly skilled programmer to assist in creation of systems such as a dynamic interpolating camera system. This is a role for a more experienced programmer. Less experienced programmers should consider the Shee Labs Mutator Week project instead, as a learning point.
We are only working currently towards a single level design for the first release, with others planned at a more reasonable rate in future. This will however require the cooperation of several artists to complete, as the majority of all art assets will have to be built from scratch. This is a position that can be filled by anybody with a reasonable level of skill and ability - we require reasonable meshes, UVs and at least a very basic material. Those with skill in animation may also be of interest. All Artists will be required to import their content into the UT3 level editor, and create prefabs with their exported meshes.
We are looking for one or two 2d artists to work on a few graphics, and a lot of in game assets for use in complex materials. Experience with Unreal 3 materials is not a requirement, and can be taught if necessary - but some level of self-learning and willingness to learn quickly is required. Note that the editor has high system requirements, and the artist must be able to use it.
Matinee Cinematic Artist
Whilst not being used for cut-scenes, Matinee will be used extensively to create a very active, very dynamic environment. As such, we are looking for someone with experience using Matinee. The Matinee Artist will be required to script sequences using kismet and set up a large number of dynamic objects. The artist must save these as prefabs for use in later merging.
The project will make use of pre-filmed, live action sequences to help direct the player, and to assist in the unique setting. These videos will require some post processing, and editing with a package such as Adobe After Effects.
The use of custom sound is sought after in this project, and we would require an experienced engineer to create mostly inorganic, digital sound. It must be high quality, 44Khz stereo and in an easily editable format. We are not looking for music at this time, but may be in the future.
Thanks for your time.
