    Map - Deathmatch (PC/PS3) DM-Nowhere [UPDATED V1.4] [PC,PS3]

    Name: DM-Nowhere
    Version:1.3
    Compatibility: UT3 v1.2

Description: Medium sized island map, with a partialy destructible building in the center.

    Players:5-10

    UPDATE v1.4

    -Removed scorpion to prevent crashes
-Fixed issues with the thor lightning gun on this map

    UPDATE v1.3

    List of changes:

-Replaced grass meshes with foliage volumes
-Added water splash FX for all weapon hits and physics objects impacting the water surface.
-Added a few more details to the building
-Pysics objects can now be pushed out of the way

    UPDATE v1.2

    List of changes:

    -added thunder and lightning effects
-foam particles to simulate waves smashing against the rocks
-fixed snagging on the edges of the island
-made it easier to climb on the cube structures
    -tweaked the jumpads.
-A few details here and there (eg. puddles)
    - A floating cube that moves along the perimeter of the map (think of it as a mobile sniper tower), but be careful while on it, it's destructible.
    - Those 2 metal supports on top of the building ca crush unsuspecting bots/players underneath if you destroy the ceiling, and if you kill someone you get the "Pancake!" anouncement.
    - physics objects now do damage, so you can for example crush a bot/player aginst a wall with one of the large boxes.
    - moved the invisibility powerup to a secret location (don't worry you'll see where, when the bots go for it).
-And last but not least a hidden teleporter, that can take you from one corner of the map to the other.

Cubes hold an interesting place in the abstract/bizarre world because they rarely ever occur in nature. Combining them with trees floating makes for some glorious weirdness. It's like a Dali painting.

Well I opened the cooked version again and it looks fine. Lighting rebuilt and the map cooked without any errors and in game it works fine. Is anybody else having this issue?

Are you using a custom texture for the terrain?

I really like that you made it so that the bricks from the building disappear instead of flopping around the level the whole time. Keeps things running nice. Using the redeemer to level the whole building in one blast is awesome too

I'll have to see how well the PS3 can run this map with people playing it when you figure out what's up with the terrain.

Nope... just stock textures. The only thing I did differently this time was that I put the terrain on one of the unnamed lighting channels. The terrain was kind of dark so I put it on a separate chanel so I could make a directional light that only affects the terrain... Could this be it? Even so, I still don't understand how come it looks fine for me.

Defiantly a unique addition for a theme.

Found what was giving that error message. It was the pine speed tree mesh.
But this has nothing to do with the terrain...

what about the line right below the highlighted "pathnode 11" actor:
terrain_0 , your terrain does not have bmorphingenabled set to true. you may see popping.

it's the only error that is referring to your terrain, and that little light bulb icon is curious too. I'm no mapping expert, but maybe try setting the boolean to true for this variable, recook and repost, see if it makes a difference???

awesome looking map, probably one of the most unique themes for a map i've seen in a while.

It must be really frustrating trying to figure out why the terrain is showing up white for everyone, but I still had a blast with the map in the meantime.

It's so cool to run into a room, grab a flak cannon, shoot a ball into the wall and just walk right through the hole. The map just flows so well and when you get the layout down you can just blow holes in the wall to get where you want to go. Using the redeemer to blast a whole section of the building is just awesome too, even if it slows the PS3 down a lot for a few seconds. Great map man...everything you do seems to be such high quality.

WOW I love the really abstract world theme going to give this one a shot. Looks good simple and just off the wall abstract, I have never seen this done with Unreal before.

OK, fixed the white terrain problem. It was due to some funky settings on the texture layers. Uploading now.

    EDIT: Download links updated.

Just tested it... it officially works. And it looks alot better with terrain
But I think a little more "weirdness" would make it even better... like some melted clocks hanging from the tree branches.

Just played it and it looked amazing (no missing textures)

The only bug I noticed is that the bots seem to get stuck on the cube structures (the one that the rocket launcher is on)

The only improvements I could suggest to this level are to make the boxes/crates "lighter" so they can be moved around with more ease (with weapons, I know you can't push them with your body), they can really hamper movement when strewn around. The level could us a few more surreal effects to go with the theme.

Other than that this level is really good, great work Remus.

Wow some awesome stuff here, i redeemed the building 3 times and still didn't completely destroy it hehe great stuff.

Only suggestion I have for that would maybe to...make every single brick breakable? Oh and to maybe add some more details to the structure too just to tart up its image a little from just white .

Keep these coming Remus, you damn good at what you do
