    Finally!! Someone's put the effort in and made a really good UT3 VCTF map! I think this is the best VCTF map I have got via this forum yet. And i've tried quite a few..
    I've been playing beta's of this for quite a while now. Its come along very nicely Its good to see it released in full now.

    Good work Plugh Its a quality fun map so I hope it becomes popular and appears on some servers.

    Good work plugh, I fully enjoy this map. I missed the beta stage, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it anyway. Easier to navigate than it was in UT2k4, and just as fun.

    Maybe now we'll get to see you start working on 'Opal' for UT3?

    Hi eky,
    I doubt I will be converting any more ut2004 maps, this was mainly to help me learn and understand the new editor, as well as getting one of my personal faves into UT3.
    I have a few ideas in the pipeline though, and will be releasing more stuff as soon as possible.

    The PS3 version is being tested now ... if everything goes as expected the link will be sent to plugh in the next 15-20 minutes.

    Edit: The final version's PS3 link has been sent to Plugh so you PS3 users should have access to this marvelous level soon. Enjoy.

    ... Wow this map looks incredible! I'm downloading the PS3 version as I type this. Man I can't believe I almost over looked such an amazing looking map. It's got a refreshing look to it. I'll comment on how it plays when I get it unpacked and ready!

    EDIT: Wow... Is it just me, or does this map kinda give off a Warhawk feel? I must be crazy. XD It plays really well. I love the balancing with the weapon placements and the vehicle choices. There's a lot of variety, lots of routes and every vehicle is placed very well. This map is one of my top faves.

    Yeah I spent a lot of time with the vehicle and weapons balance, I didn't want any vehicle to be too dominating, and I think/hope I achieved that. I tried to counterbalance every possible situation with every vehicle in one way or another, and it proved to be a winning formula, well, against bots anyway. It will be interesting to see how this plays out on big servers.

    Thats Anuban for you, the first to take my throne for testing out PS3 maps. Curse you Anuban!

    Jokes aside, Ill give some feedback later on today. I had to pull a double shift at my job and I feel like falling asleep.

    Wow! I really like maps like this. Many routes, jumps and vehicles, cant wait to play this online.

    But there is one little bug. When I drive with Scorpion on the ramp in middle bridge, scorpion gets suddenly extraboost and fly over water too far. Even if I drive there backwards it flies over water. When I drive directly under the bridge and go right place(close to ramp) scorpion flies directly right or left on water. I didnt notice that extraboost on other vehicle, and scorpion normal boost is enought to get on other side.

    Anyway thanks for the great map!

    I think its supposed to be like that. Adds some comedy chaos to the map I guess its also partly down to how the speed ups in UT3 work too. Im pretty sure it isnt a bug as such..

    That's intentional, the boost only affects the scorpion, you can choose to use the scorpions boost if you want to go further : )

    I love this map sooo much! One of the top 5 best maps. I'm going to go ask my friends to download it.

    Top quality map. It could afford a little more eyecandy, I think, but the gameplay is ideal. We need more VCTF maps on this kind of scale.

    The additional speed boost for the Scorpion over the bridge is a nice idea, but it does seem a little too strong. If you drive over without boosting it just flings you right into the opposite wall, when with some tweaking I'm sure it could at least let you land neatly on the ground.

    Anyway, another five stars from me.

    Concur with the earlier posters - this map rivals & even surpasses some of the Epic-created maps. Looks very professional, plays very well & no matter how many times you play through it, always seems like there's a route you haven't taken or a place you haven't seen. Excellent work, definitely a keeper, & a richly deserved five stars from me Look forward to all your future work, thanks for taking the time to cook this for PS3

    Unfortunately reducing the boost force just means the Scorp bounces off the Vehicle Boost on the opposite side and the Scorp falls limply into the canal, in UT2k4 vehicle boosting was done with karma physics volumes, and this allowed an entry angle. There's no such luxury in UT3, oh well. If you angle the jump to the right slightly, you can get a half decent landing : )


    Thankyou all for all the really nice comments, this really has boosted my confidence regarding map making, and is inspiring me to make more content. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in this stuff, I think I'm losing sight of what actually is good for gameplay or not, and I'm so glad this is providing some fun for people seeing and playing the map for the first time. Really, thankyou all : )

    This is a fantastic map. It has battlefield visuals and an almost Halo-esque feel to it (think Turf). Unfortunately, it also creates a pretty substantial framrate hit on the PS3. It's a huge shame because this map is right on up there with the best of the best. I really wish I could play it as it were meant to be played...

    Really? I played a huge game with bots on it just yesterday and experienced no lag whatsoever on my PS3. Were you playing online?

    ^You are not clear what the problem is.. Otherwise im sure someone would have replied to help you by now. I don't understand what you are "uploading"? I take it you have donwnloaded the map to your PC right? In which case uncompress the file with Winrar or whatever and go from there.
    Im not really familiar with PS3 however, but once you explain exactly what the problem is, then im sure someone will quickly be able help you out.

    basically ive downloaded the ps3 version and it is a RAR file not JAM. When i go to import it it says there is no data and i have put it in the right location on the USB. Can someone please help

    When I jump over the ramps on a Scorpion or view any large area of the map, I notice lag (offline even with no bots). Bots, of course, make the lag worse because there's more going on in the visual department. Here's a tip for everyone else with a PS3: You can tell when a map is lagging by using the controller to slowly pan across the screen. If it exhibits horizontal tearing, then the map is lagging. However, in this case I didn't even have to do that - the lag was getting pretty obvious. Any way to make the map a little lower poly?

    I got zero lag with 7 bots. I got some fps drop with 15 bots. I really love this map. It's very socom or CoD-esque. The Warhawk comparrison was a good one too. I love the layout, and expanse of this map. The terrain makes for some unique close-calls running back with the flag. I don't have any critiques for this map. Everything seems perfect. This is a straight forward yet strategic map. This is a must have map for sure. This map also fits perfectly with the All Over DM mod. The only thing that would make this map better for me, is if an All Over TDM mod was out. Thanks for the great map, this one's never coming off my hard drive. I'm on PS3 BTW. Anyone with a PS3 needs this map, trust me. It's THAT good.

    At first I was a little skeptical, but when I tried it I realized it was an extremely fun map. My only gripe is (imho) the PP volume is a little lack-luster.

    Great map and as discussed (via pm) the mod is now available from unreal shack, those experiencing probs with the ps3 version elsewhere, will be able to directly download the userdata.jam file from the site making it a doddle to put on your PS3, as well as get the PC version.

    Very cool map...the detail is great and its very fun.But Im not sure whoever cooked it for the PS3 didnt mention the black bars shooting out of certain vehicles.

    I notice this is a problem with all warfare or VCTF for the PS3......Epic needs to patch this problem for the PS3.
