    Default CONGRATULATIONS (+question)

    Hey there.

Today I started downloading custom made maps. And to be honest, I'm astonished. Really, I am AMAZED. There are some really great maps. For now, I downloaded Altas City, Dreamus RC4, FeelGoodInc, DustBowl and Satellite. FeelGoodInc is my absolute favourite and Satellite is the most beautifull one. I hope to be downloading more of them soon.
However, (here comes the question!!) : how do I get to play them in instant action?

    SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN ME

    Good night!
BTW: Anyone any download link for downloading more maps? The maps above I had to download when the game was already going...Also, I haven't played any TDM custom map yet. Suggestions?

    http://utforums.epicgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=341

you'll find maps and mods people have created here with posted links. Download the maps and just follow the instructions in the read me file. The install location depends if you have the PC version or the PS3 version of UT3 but if you need help just post back and I'm sure myself or someone in the community will help you out =)

Welcome to the UT community and hope you enjoy all the great UT3 stuff people are making!

Its a personal thing from college and DOOM. No keyboard or mouse! Too many buttons.
Some people are homeconsole gamers first just like there are many PC gamers and programmers
tek.. whatever proffesion. But we all hold our core connection we feel most comfortable with *i think*.

Kinda like a fetish against it. Really.

If you are on a PS3, I am of no help whatsoever. If you are on a PC, I detailed how to install custom maps here.
(Sometimes when you click on that link the page shows with everything right-justified and looks weird. If it does, clicking on your browser refresh button should fix it.)

As gamers, playing games is our second-most favorite hobby. Our most favorite is, of course, complaining about games.

what do you prefer to play? you can download loads of maps in the modders area but thats a bit messy if you ask me, its hard to know wich maps are good and are played alot and were to excactley find them.

    for that matter...EPIC, MAPPACKS PLZ!!

imo Clanbase is your answer with the latest competetive maps (that are mostly also used on publics)
but you van look up maps for all the UT3 ladders, like ware-are and DeathMatch ICTF etc etc
for example, the 2 folloing links are for ICTF maps.
http://clanbase.ggl.com/news_league.php?lid=6557 <-- on the right side a few maps
http://clanbase.ggl.com/rating.php?lid=5656 <-- on the right side a mappack.

This means the maps are in the UT3 cache. If you check the 'My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Cache\' folder, you'll find a number of files with a series of letters and numbers. These are the map files you downloaded from the server while in the game. In order to play these maps offline in instant action, you'll need to get Brad.G's cache converter.

The cache converter should rename the files and move them to the appropriate directory for you. You can do it yourself, using the Cache.ini to tell what file is what, but it would be easier to use the cache converter. Once you've used the cache converter, the maps will then show up in the menus, just like the original maps.
