Set Server Name

Hello, i have a problem, i wanna claim the owner of my server for thar i need change the name of my server to "GameTracker" but i cant because always take the login name and the description.

Login:Example Description server

How can i set the name of my server and quit login name?

I edited inis and change Servername= and still the name do not show.

Remove any reference to servername that may be in your commandline

In your UTGame.ini find

[Engine.GameReplicationInfo]
ServerName=

Change this to GameTracker

Your UTGame.ini should be located in \unreal tournament 3 (dedicated server)\UTGame\Config\ or \Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config\ dependent on if your using -nohomedir in your commandline.

I too have used GameTracker for my UT3 server and this is all that is needed.

Still the browser show login: Description

I dont set the name by the start commandline, maybe is that? how can do it with the startline?

You don't set it in commandline as of patch 1.1, I presume you are using latest patch (1.2). If it isn't working with patch 1.1 or above your possibly editing the wrong UTGame.ini file. Also it should look like

[Engine.GameReplicationInfo]
ServerName=Your Server Name (if ServerName is set, it is used in the server browser in place of the login ID)
ShortName=UT3 Server
MessageOfTheDay=Your Message of the Day

I had to do this last week to claim ownership with Game Tracker.
I did it differently, I used the webadmin to do it.
That worked.

Once I had the server running with Game Tracker in it, and I clicked the link on their site to track the server, it said I was the owner, and I changed the name back in webadmin.

Much simpler for me than editing the bat file.

You don't have to edit the bat file, just the UTGame.ini

Solved, i created a new login profile called a_GameTracker and now im the owner but i still can not changethe name but login: Description is ok.

There are two files for UTGame.ini. I found out what the different. Once you launch the game and set pure server the game. The game file set to "\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config".

If your using the batch cmd. It goes to the game files area. "\programfiles\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config".
