After installing patch TU3 after fresh install, the game boots from windows into a black screen a large icon for the mouse cursor appears, showing the resolution is in 800x600, then crashes back to windows!

Have tried to boot without SLI enabled and Physics GPU enabled, still no joy.

When I try to play the game it usually brings up "Do you want to save or open Launch.cab" How do I get past this to play the game? I had the game working before, but now it just doesn't want to do anything.

but my friend is still at his level

I get the next error message:
#1. Problem: When I launch the game I receive and error message. In the title bar of the error message it says “The DVD-ROM could not be located.” The text in the error message is: “Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, click OK, and restart the application.”

but there is no answer. All it sais is this:

"Information: There are actually two unique errors that use this same text. The first error has a red “X” icon and the second version of the error has a yellow exclamation point ("!"). In a nutshell: for some reason Gears cannot find your DVD (or the completely wrong DVD is in the drive) or has found a DVD that doesn't look like it is the right Gears of War disc.

Resolution: This has most often been linked to an incompatibly between Gears of War and some virtual drive programs that could be running. A virtual drive program allows the user to use a portion of hard drive space to emulate a different drive or type of drive."

it doesn't give a solution to the problem. I dont have a virtual drive. I still don't know how to solve this problem.

Gears of war version is 1.0 and its in spanish, i hadnt modified any file

YAY !!!! i finally got rid of the old file not found thingy ....
well after that when i double clicked my gears tu3 it works perfectly until it says DVD ROM CANNOT BE LOCATED , can someone help me please

whenever i start to play i get about 30 seconds into the load and then it quits and i get a message saying that gears of war stoped for an unknown reason and it keeps happening i dled the update aswell and it still is happening.

Ever since this update I can't find a match unless one of my friends hosts. I can find matches in other games like Halo 3 easily

the server picks 2 maps from the same map pack most of the time its flashback im tired of that garbage. the server should have to pick maps from 2 different packs allways...

starting wed. night (for me) my gamer profile freezes our xbox every time i play gears 2.. me and my husband always play split screen and have for a long time now, but since we did the update (was able to play for about a week) only my gamer tag freezes the xbox when i try to play gears 2.. i can play any other game.. we have tried EVERYTHING, have called live support and epic games (no answer from epic games) and im not the only one with this problem!!

we have paid a lot of money to play this game, money for map packs, live subscriptions, the actual game, and now i cant even play it.. this is the only game ive played in a long time because i like it so much!!
