    First of all: COOL.

    Second thing is as follows: Is it final or beta? (You posted in the beta sub-board) If this is a beta then make sure you rename the file so that there won't be any mismatches with later versions. This is actually very important, you might not know about it until now so please make sure you rename it asap. THX

    Any chance of a UC version (with the giant boiler in the middle of each of the main courtyards?
    I like it a lot for the most part, but the lighting is really flat, and it makes it hard to pick out certain characters against it, as well as making it look a little more dull than it has to.

    Nice remake, very faithful to the original and even more fun in UT3. The only issue I had was the atmosphere, some more dramatic lighting, post process effects and maybe heightfog wouldn't go astray.

    It is very faithful to the original. Plays great too. I would like to see some kind of fog or smoke... something more atmospheric. The lighting is not very well done either. it looks like you've just spread light actors all over the place. This is a great map to make the best of UT3's gritty look. Add some different dramatic lighting and maybe some other nice effects to this beast and you'll have yourself a full release.

    Looks good! Static mesh work looks nice. I'd agree that the lighting does look a little flat though...

    Its really grey but lies that can't be your first maptoo good, working on the lighting abit more and it can convince me that it is a stock map

    You may want to start using the correct format when you are creating a thread which is about you releasing your content. It would get you more folks interested in the level and also later on you won't have to worry about mods reminding you about it. Just a suggestion .... good luck with the level.

    Hi. MAP is Very good, almost all, but coloristic is NOT, map looks ugly. My advice corect the colours & u will have beutifull map & playable. I took the screenshots & make some samples, plz look at them. I added to screens about 30% contrast & brightness, blue & litle red colors in photoshop ... to autor.

    Is there any more progress on this map. Its incredible what you've done so far. I Only experienced a a couple of collision hulls. over then that you've nailed it.

    Is it me, or does the "grungification" factor in the new UT3 textures muddy out a lot of geometric landmarks the eye looks for in a map? In so many maps, everything is so dark and grungy that all the geometry just seems to blend together in a big, grungy pattern. Perhaps, vary the textures with some that have colors for contrast.

    A lot of it is the lighting on this map. You can easily bring out distinction in form with good lighting (check out the TemptestX remakes.) But the flat lighting style here makes the level blend together a bit more than it should.

    Architecture is perfect. But as ClockWorkJB said: some more dramatic lighting, post process effects and maybe heightfog wouldn't go astray
    I would advise: ADD MORE GREEN... LOT OF GREEN...

    I agree. more green bounced light, and some faded red textures. I remember some red in the map. There just needs to be greater contrast with the textures.

    There is my comments. It concern the look of the map because I like all the rest :

    PS: I use the ColorControl mutator that allow to restore the originals colours.

    1- I noticed this bizarre alinement's of the lava just under the big ventilator. You can see by the 2 screenshots :

    (These are with the mutator on)



    (This is with the mutator off)


    2 - I don't know if you gonna put something with lightning on the roof in future release but it look dead for now...



    3 - Since the 2 big room are based on the same layout. I suggest that you use some different colour to distinguish the 2 rooms. These colours could be coming from that dead roof to the bottom to tell the player where is going because I found myself confuse, I did not know where to go exactly since the colour are all the same everywhere. It will look very nice if you put a lightning effect from that roof/hole. The light source could be a sort of light effect or an exterior view... anyway you'r the boss

    4 - I suggest that you name all the package file with the same name to avoid any confusion with all futures maps that can be release using some personal package name. The idea is to package a project that is base on the same name as follow :

    DM-Compressed_2.ini
    DM-Compressed_2.ut3
    DM-Compressed_2.upk instead of MyP1.upk

    Except these. This map is solid for a beta !

    Yep that is good news ... it is always nice when a good modder returns ... I am glad I was wrong in this instance. It looks like the reason he was gone was so that he could really focus on his new project but I wonder what that means for this level ... looks like this has been abandoned at least until the Gears mappack is done.

    Thread back from the dead. Did this map ever get finished? Compressed was one of my favorite maps in the old games and I'd love to try it in UT3. Or, do you have the beta at least? The link is dead.

    I have the map, but there are bugs ... at the weapon placement centers there is no floor ..so you fall right through to the goop ..but the goop is not a killzone i guess, so you can stay in the goop alive.. This is one of the favorite duels maps ..so tired of the bone and etc..this will be a good map ..

    I am tempted to fix these bugs
