    Exclamation UDE will not run!

After I install UDE, when I try to run it I get this error: "Your UT2004 Installation is invalid or unknown. Please (re-)install UT2004."

I've already tried reinstalling. I have a legit copy; it's the Editor's Choice DVD. My CD Key is valid and I can play the game online without problem.

I've searched online for info on this error and found absolutely nothing. I don't expect to get far posting on a forum for an old game, but if anyone can help please do...

Where are you installing to? If you install to C:\UT2004 (the default install path) it should work.

Unreal Anthology is different. You will have to manually move the UT2004 folder to the root of the drive.

No... It didn't help me... =\ But when I'm installing ude3005.ut4mod I have to write down C:\UT2004\System\setup.exe install UDE3005.UT4MOD. Because double-click on ude3005.ut4mod don't install it, it can't find file association

After moving UT2004 to C:\ there is a registry tool that someone made (I'll look for it) that fixes the setup.exe problem to make ut4mod files work again. Ask around for it, someone might know where to download it.

The regestry tool is very useful when it comes to moveing the directory around however if you are trying to run UDE as a non admin then you will also need to alter the regestry for a number of keys.

As Always back up your regestry before attempting this (if you dont and it breaks do not blame me) then ammend the permissions to allow full control for users of the localhost to the following keys

    HKLM\Software\UnrealTechnology\InstalledApps\UT200 4

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\UT2004

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\Winmm

    enjoy

I have recently re-bought the game through Steam so that I can use Steam chat in game. So now the game is installed at:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unreal Tournament 2004

Of course now I have run into this UDE problem, I wonder if anyone has a work around so that I can keep the game in its current location and use the UDE?

    Cheers

Yea, UDE is a free version of WoTGreal. Which means that if you use WoTGreal without purchasing it, you'll be using a trial, which is not very nice.
Personally, I don't think I have ever managed to set up UDE on Windows 7... But if it is indeed a problem with the path, you can try and create a junction: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/
