Nice work. Very nice!
Nice work. Very nice!
(Exhales deeply) "It never ends"!
hey is there anyway of obtaining this map? also would you do a lance or bots version as this is just great work
Currently the download is not available. It will be available this Saturday (12/13/2008) and this post will be updated at that time. If I knew how to add bots within my multiplayer maps, I would do it- As it stands now, it will be released as a generic map and nothing special!
Thanks for the interest and check back on Saturday.
Wow to the idiot who 1-star voted this for 3 stars. We definitively need to know who give star ratings like that. Voted 5 to increase.
Voted 5 for the screens. Hopefully more will join in once the link is updated![]()
Thanks Kantham, I don't really take that stuff too seriously- but it is much appreciated, nevertheless.
Thanks liquidLeary, these are pretty old screens in need of updating but as you've mentioned, a download link is much more important! I've been meaning to show some love to this map, as it was one of my earliest attempts using the new Unreal tech. It needs some optimization and also some aesthetic fixes here and there-
I'm going to try and get another beta download/fresh screens up this evening! I would love any feedback for the weapon placement, cover density, performance issues, etc.
Cheers!
Thanks Neverism! I'm having trouble with lighting not rendering consistently across the map. Otherwise, excellent job.![]()
Thanks for trying it out LiquidLeary- I will have a look at the lighting and see what might be going on.
Are you seeing the "Lighting needs to be rebuilt" message on the upper-left corner of the screen or is it another type of issue?
I appreciate any help in narrowing the problems down and once again, thanks for the help!
I experience the lighting issue in-game and in-editor. Also, the editor crashes if I attempt to rebuild or PIE.
Did you publish this map?

I recall someone else released an unpublished map and it prevented this from happening. I'm not sure what causes it though.
Neversim, this is every bit as good as I hoped it would be. Im getting the same lighting issues as the other posters, but even with that I can see this is a gorgeous map. You are very talanted and really have a grasp of the Gears aesthetic. I'd have to say this is in the handfull of truly stock quality looking maps released, along with MozI's MP_Pipeline, some of Kantham's Lance maps and a couple of others. The PP is a little too desaturated for my tastes (Im more into the warmer more saturated look of GOW2), but thats purely a personal thing, and the scheme fits perfectly with the GOW1 look overall.
The layout looks to have huge potential too. I really hope the issues can be sorted out and this gets some play online.
Fantastic work.

Thanks a lot for the good words Crayfish. I appreciate it very much.
The PPE is definitely something that is highly subjective and changes from
person to person. Thankfully it isn't too difficult to experiment with and get
different results-
Any other suggestions/feedback will only help the map improve.
I will try to republish the map and upload it again to see if it fixes the lighting issues.
Cheers!
