    MODEL Ramirez (UT99 Remake) [1 PIC, No Download]

    Ramirez - my remake of classic UT model.
    This is my first experience.



    At this point ready the test model (without normal maps). But I think there is still a lot of work:
    - Rebuild mesh and textures.
    - Make shoulderpads
    - Make Normal maps (I do not like them)
    - And more, more, more...

    P.S.: I was able to create new Faction (with some trouble)... and I want to make a set of 4 models (UT Classic Commando).

    Nicely done! The armor looks pretty sweet, especially with the bullet holes.

    Alright! New Faction = awesomeness!! Please post how-to for the others!

    I loved the Commando characters! Thank you very much. But please do take your time! I rather wait 3 months and see your full potential!

    odkKoma, find Faction strings in CustomChars.ini... I used a existing Iron Guard Faction. But i don't understand how to use self-made interior and break parental links with IronG faction (in this case, the new faction have access to all parts of models of parental faction).
    And finally you want to make a picture in custom package for the new faction.

    You can experiment

    Creating a custom faction is still broken; critical elements are hardcoded. Epic is aware of it and has added it to their fix list.
    MAP MIXER 3.00 Final! UT ain't complete without it.

    Awesome!! Are you going to make a female commando, too? I'm sure a lot of people would love to have one of those.

    Really? That's certainly good news. Is custom voice pack support on their fix list as well?

    Cool! I always thought it was a shame those classic models were only available in low poly. Now if Epic can fix custom voice pack support, we can have the real UT99 experience in UT3.

    Now just make him all bulky and he'll be like the normal characters.

    No, he's fine the way he is. He should look like the models from UT99, only higher poly -- that's the whole point. It's refreshing to see someone who looks like a normal guy instead of a walking tank.

    Wow nice..when i looked at the model face i remembered him...but wasnt Ramirez with some camouflage make up???....

    anyway I love it and good thing you found how to create new factions

    That's cool dude...I wished the Epic Games would bring back all the old UT99 characters
    models for UT3.

    Hahaha, that's great. I just clicked this topic seeing the Model-tag, my brain not having processed 'Ramirez', 'remake' and 'UT99' yet, so the sight of a UE3 Ramirez gazing at me was a nice surprise. Awesome, hehe.
    Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

    The problem with making an interior for the model to exist in, is the current ones, are not part of an .ini or anything, but part of a map file that the game uses for the main menu. Once game loads the menu and the map, the UI tells kismet what to do inside the map, which is where it will take you to for the corresponding faction's display. This part of the hardcooded problems that was mentioned, in this part of the problem, its a "cooked" problem.
