    Default Rubble Single Player Chapter.

    Hey guys i just wanted to give you all an update on my single player level.
    I've been busy latly, but since i stayed home from school today it gave me a great opportunity to catch up on it. Im pretty much done adding in static meshes and done with the lighting, so i still need to add cover (most annoying tedious thing ever!) and of course i have to add the monsters. Tell me what you think.
    I do have a few questions though.
    How do i make cog tags Pickupable? If that makes any sense...

    Wow! Looks great! Just a few touches and it'll look as good as any level made by Epic.

    nice updates NewPCGamer, i am also finishing up my single player map.

    One thing i want to add is that scale down the ground texture that i see in the first screen, it is a little too big. Other than that map design looks pretty cool

    Brumak or Berzerker encounters would be a nice addition.

    haha i just noticed that that texture is way to big aswell. thanks. I checked out your map and it looks really cool. im downloading it now

    looks cool just wish M$ would make player maps from the PC map editor downloadable via xbox live for free that would be cool

    Seems like a great map, I love the lightning, and the materials used.

    They all look great, except for the first shot. Something about that is just really uninteresting to me. It might be the bland lighting or all of the unused space. Either way, I personally wouldn't have included that screenshot. No worries though, the rest look very promising.

    On another note, am I the only one that doesn't mind placing cover and blocking volumes? I mean, yes, it's tedious, but it's also about problem solving and bringing life to your level through actions behind the scenes. It really hasn't bothered me thus far.

    thanks for the comments guys they are appreciated. As far as the lighting goes ive been trying to make some improvements. Its hard to get it lit where it looks like you are outdoors so if anyone has any suggestions for me to try for that, that would be great. As for a berserker encounter, i dont think im going to add one to this map for a number of reasons. I dont know how to add constraints to meshes yet, so nothing that it charges through would break, and i just didnt design the map around a berserker battle. maybe i will add one in my next map.

    Yes it would be. But thats never going to happen. Just get PC Gears, tis' better anyway.....Except for all the bugs sigh.............

    Quick Update. Id say im about 95% done just need to fix up a few thing then itll be off to the beta forums. Which brings me to a question... How do i upload this map to a website like filefront? do i have to make an account their or no?

    Don't you have to pay for filefront? I'm not sure.

    Not sure about filefront, but you can do megaupload.com or rapidshare.com and it is easy and free. It just forces people to type in some letters and wait 45 seconds or so before downloading.

    megaupload.com & rapidshare.com will delete or make u wait 1 hour before downloading after a # of downloads, i use filefront its easy to use and i think the max size u can upload is 2gigs more or less i forgot.
    works fine and the download/upload is fast!

    There's a way to remove the waiting times between each download. After you download the thing you want, delete all your cookies, disconnect your router or something which causes you to lose Internet Connection. Re-connect it, go to your Internet Browser and download something else that you want or another part of the file (which is usually the case for me).

    well another little update... it seems that epics piece of **** editor always wants to crash on me right when i open it so im not sure what i should do now. Thanks epic for a piece of ****.

    Looks great! Can't wait till I can play the Mac version of Gears. Just have to wait for Epic to release Gears MAC and for Apple to put Intel's Montevina motherboard in the Macbook PROs.

    Map lookes good. It gets annoying when it stops you for point of intrest. The boomers killed me because it stops to veiw "Boomers" Cant we figure out how to do the press Q or Y?

    Amazing map! my favorite custom SP map so far (aside from my own haha).

    The "Boomers!" sound from marcus actually happened a long time after I first saw them and had been fighting them, because I didn't step on the trigger for a while

    I liked the fact that there was sort of a puzzle to kill the boomers (climbing up behind the dumpster). I would have been angry if there wasn't something like that, because the first time I didn't see it and ran in there and instantly died. However, the boomers did not move any so I just shot them and they stood there. Check your collission and pathing.

    When Anya says "You remember the mission don't you?" I actually didn't remember, so I was stuck thinking "what is the mission?" until later. Not a big deal because all you really need to do is kill stuff.

    "And I'm spent" sound Marcus says seems out of place, as it doesn't happen right as you kill the boomers, but later when you walk down a hallway.

    The trap with the room full of bodies and the wretches was great. Little bastard snuck up on me and almost killed me.

    Great architecture and cover. Lots of fun. I just think the lighting is a little bit stale (White), as is the final hallway with the APC. If you have time, you could make a courtyard with a gate that the APC is sticking through instead of just a hallway.
