unreal tournament lag problem

hello people!
i got a really big problem with my internet over here..
first i had dreadless internet, so no cable.. i had no problems with my internet and everything was perfect except some things, so we bought a cable
but now i got cable.. and also everything works perfect, except ut2004.
i got ping from 150 to 300 and also some pl.
only unreal tournament doesnt work over here.. what can i do to fix this?
any patches i could download? or somthing wrong with my settings?
pls help me with this problem, cant w8 to play ut2004 again
