    Utility (PC) M&M Maps and mutators Installer V2.1 [pic] [download]

    Version 2.1

    M&M works in two ways.

    Manual Install
    you can manually install maps and mutators by placing the files in to the dump folder and installing them

    NOTE: DO NOTput files of maps and mutators in the folder at the same time. its perfectly fine to throw lots of maps in there and install them at the same time.. or lots of mutators. but you cannot mix them as they share the same file extensions.

    also please note you cannot put folders within the folder. it does not read sub directories, but no doubt it will in future releases.

    Download and auto install
    Version 2.0 Features the ability to connect to our server, so you can download and install maps and mutators automatically on the fly

    File Management
    This application will store what maps and mutators you have installed, which gives you the option to easily uninstall them by simply ticking them in the list, and clicking on the recycle bin button.

    Fixed bug where directories could not be loaded while browsing the server.
    Fixed bug where items would duplicate when clicking the refresh button
    Changed bytes total to display MB & KB


    once the tool has installed them it will remove them from the folder to save you hassle.

    What are the Paths u use for this?

    Mutator´s *.ini, *.int, *.u and*.upk in MyGames/Scriptfolder works as well, because of the clarity

    all mutator files go in the installation directory... int in localization, u and upk in another, ini in my games config folder

    thats a bit forward. i just gave you an answer, which tells you where they go, this is a free app, i put it on here for people to download, not to ask questions on how its made im very tired, im not going through my source again double checking the strings.

    sry that ur tired here it is 3pm ^^
    its not the source, its only UT3 can read in more folders.
    so i put all mut-files in one folder. so, if i use your tool, i cant find any mut-files in 1 or 2 folders, to example delete them.
    that why i ask which folder u use.

    My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config -->> where all .ini files go (settings file)

    - C:\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\CookedPC -->> place all .u and .upk files here

    - C:\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Localization\(language i.e. INT) -->> place all .int files here.

    its 2pm here.... but ive been awake 28 hours

    future version will log the mutators/maps you have installed and display them in a list on this applications GUI, which you can browse through and delete the ones you dont want anymore, or back them up at a click of a button.

    what i mean by mod manager:
    want to select a list of mutators, maps and mods from an other folder than mygames, or unreal tournament 3 base folder and launch the game with the selected mods enabled.
    or just have the possibility to put all add-ons in a folder that can be located anywhere.

    my boot partition and my second harddisk are both full, just want an issue, my second partition is free...

    Ok i have coded the application to connect to one of my servers, scan for new mutators, display them to you where your given the option to tick which ones you would like, and by clicking the download button it will download the mutator, and install it for you.

    We now have our very on community created delivery system!

    Not at all! As long as it makes importing maps into the game easier, im all for it! For some reason, even though I followed the two steps, and dragged and dropped the files into the "Put your files in here!" folder, and "added them" they're not showing up in the maps list in any of the game modes...Once you "put them into the game" are there any other steps required to get them ready to play?

    Type "open themapname" in the console, or select the level in a multiplayer/instant action game.

    Ok cool...2 quick Q's first. Are you talking about the thing where you press "Tab" in game, when the little area to type in ? Also when you type "open themapname" in it, I replace "themapname" with the name of the actual map right? sorry for the noob Q's, im new to PC gaming.

    go to the list where you see all the servers you can connect to and press F10 ... a console window thingy will open.

    yep replace themapname with the actual name of the map.
    and type

    open themapname

    just FYI .. you can type open xx.xx.xx.xx:7777 if you ever need to connect to an IP directly.

    Fair enough but, maps use .ut3 extension and mutators use .u extension, explain?

    LOL..... there is more than one file you know? maps also use .upk files , and .ini files, same as mutators in some instances

    I too am going to go to bed early tonight....My new GFX card (the link in my sig) is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, and I wanna make sure im up to accept the delivery...I'd hate to have to go pick it up at the nearest UPS store (like 10 miles away, and im 16 without a car, so I cant exactly drive there..And thats 5 miles too far for me to make skateboarding there worth it...     Is there a way to make these maps show up in the ingame list?
    I normally start up a dedicated server by starting the game and creating that way for dedicated.
    So i'm looking to add these to a map list.

    if not can someone point me in the right direction to do this with a dedicated server?

    you would be better off making a post in the server section of the forum with regards to custom maps

    I'll have to try this because one of the most important mods for 2004 IMO was the map installer which did the same thing for maps, mods/mutators, and even models. But one question.....does it also list the maps and mods it has instaklled and allow you to choose any of them and UN-INSTALL them too? If not it should, as that was an important aspect of the one i used for 2004.
