This map to me looks too much like UT2004. The textures just don't seem to cut it. I don't have that beautiful 3d brick etc. effect that I love about UT3. Otherwise, true to the original and fun to play. I like the hidden room (never noticed it in the original if it were there).

    thx for the commtents

i learned so much things by making this remake, i never thought it would become that great... it was mainly done for learning purpose with the unrealED and was a lot of fun to play it later. it is awesome seeing online-servers running this map already

that hidden room was not in the orginal-version , i just added it cause i liked those rooms in many ut99 maps.

testet the ripper-lite mutator on this map, it runs really well cause of the flat walls and all foliage have NO-COLLSION set, so ripper-blades wont be affected by them

as im a little experienced with mapping now i think it wont be my last one and i can start with own maps with much more advantages of the unrealengine3

Everything works great in this map for the PS3! I like the lighting that went into those stain glass murals. Haha.

Hey Herby, I also just want to say thanks for putting up the UT3MOD site as well. The PC people go out of their way to create and cook UT3 maps for us Playstation folk (which I am grateful), but you give us a easy to use site which allows even the simple computer novice to download mods (with tutorials to boot!).

    Thank you!

Quiet a nice remake but the fire is way to bright and you walk right though the fire lamps.

wow, i never thought the PS3 version would have more downloads as the PC-version.

im currently on another much bigger map (own one, no remake) with much more meshes, terrain, emitter and that stuff... i wont give any more details yet cause its not done at half

    thx at all

Hey aLeX, how did you make the false wall in this map? I am working on my first map for any game and would like to know how to possibly implement a false wall into it or a future map. Thanks. I am a n00b in UED, so I don't know much.

hey, it is a non-solid brush and a staticmesh which blocks weapons only...
just make a new brush as CSG Additive which should be the wall... then select, rightklick and choose Solidity->Non-Solid
the wall is ready then and blocks nothink...
for blocking weapons only, place a simple static-mesh like in the package UN_SimpleMeshes "TexPropCube_Dup" to the same place as the wall and resize it to the same size the wall has. rightclick on the staticmesh, choose properties, go the collision and change the CollisionType from COLLIDE_BlockAll to COLLIDE_BlockWeapons... ppl cant shoot then trough the wall

btw for starting with mapping, consider tutorials on http://www.gasduck.com/ and http://www.hourences.com/book/tutorialsindex.htm for much deeper mapping

Looks really good man, I have a quick question that might seem stupid, how do I change it from an rar file? My Playstation doesn't detect it on my USB Drive and says there's nothing on it, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the type of file.

You need to unpack it with Winrar (not free) or 7-Zip (free) and put the contents on the USB stick. I don't think folder structure matters anymore on the PS3. I don't have a PS3.

    7-Zip official homepage is: http://www.7-zip.org/

the link is broken because filefront is a joke. People should really start using mediafire that way the file will actually be there for download when u click the link instead of 20 minutes and then the file is unavailable. There's tons of filefront guys with maps in their sig that say "TRY MY MAPS" and the link brings you to a dead filefront screen. Just get mediafire and the files will stay there.
