    Default Connection issues

I have always been a die hard fan as most of you. Probably always will be . to many problems with this game for now . I guess the main one that is eating at me is when I try to log into a server and it times out i have to refresh my server list and each time i do and looses half the servers till only ones left then I have to log out , and reboot windows to get it to list all the servers again. I don't know what causes this but i hope they fix it in the next patch, until the any you guys got any ideas

I believe there's a forum for technical issues, perhaps you should try there.

No, it's not a problem with his connection, if it was a reboot would not help it.

However I have to ask, if you get this problem and instead of rebooting the computer you just quit UT and then load it up again does this still happen? Do you really have to restart your computer for it to work again?

The fact that rebooting your computer helps points to an issue with your router or modem. Have you checked for compatibility issues? This doesn't sound like a game related problem, necessarily.

that doesnt make sence, if rebooting his pc and not his router solves the problem then that would point to the pc.. and tbh more than likely ut3.

because for arguments sake if it was his router it wouldnt just stop listing less and less servers. he would either get all servers and a shed load of packet loss when he connects or total loss of net connection.

The last few days there have been a few problems listing servers around here with lists totally disappearing when you search then if you change game type then go back they all appear again. Either master server problems or gamespy imo.

Try rebooting your router and cable/DSL modem. Honestly that does the trick for my sometimes.

I also have a Belkin 54G WiFi router and I have discovered an interesting bug in it.

I have to literally use my web browser to log into the router, input a password, before I get a stable connection out of it. It pulses every 30 seconds, for 1-5 seconds, in a manner that completely shuts down my internet access for those instances.

It's _really_ aggrivating, and sometimes power cycling the router (and I have to do the DSL modem, too, at the same time) can stop it. But almost always logging in stops it.

Anyhow I bring this up because sometimes network connection issues can be silly. And in many cases I recommend people look to their routers first, before they presume it's a problem with their PC. You can spend a lot of time troubleshooting a PC, and possibly mess something up, before realizing the problem is elsewhere.

And if you have a wifi router, you definitely need it password protected, so that only those who you want can log into it. I set up my wifi router for a few days before password protecting it and there were three neighbors on it before I kicked them off.
