as long as they dont look out of place like they used to any model is fine with me.
Now I want the old RPG mutator from 2k4. Maybe even the artifacts stuff and powerups and all those goodies too....
Please no RPG, thats what killed Inv for me. Not a problem for a bit, but when 99% of the inv servers ran RPG it sucked hard.

Looks promising, as long as you don't go crazy with the sh1th0u5s3 monsters like in fraghouse, i will dload this. If you port over the skaarj i will dload regardless. Having "Necris Invasion" would be cool too, where the enemies are only necris and krall.

Okey thanks. I can find a file called UTGameSearchTDM you probably have to subclass that or subclass UTGameSearchCommon which is the parent of UTGameSearchTDM. Just need to find a way to let the gametype use this Gamesearch aswell. If you find anything, let me knowThat I am not sure yet. I think I need to build a custom search set, probably subclassing the UTGameSearchCommon class... I will try to look into it this weekend.![]()

Since of course the invasion gamemode will only show DM maps installed, why not make a Invasion mutator along with it so you can have Invasion on any map (like Suspense), all it'd do would taking away the teams and making it you and your team vs hordes of monsters!

but the mode isn't showing up on the server list (or if I try and host it). Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away Friday evening and I have not been able to work on this as much as I wanted to this weekend.
I was able to setup a server and found out a few things...
In order for map voting to work, you will need to add these lines into one of the INI files in your config directory... I have added it into the UTGaltanorsInvasion.ini and will include it in the next update.
Regarding the server browser not finding only of this type: It seems to be a general problem with the server browser. Mysterial's Slaughterhouse gametype suffers from this as well. I certainly hope it would be possible to hijack some monsters of Gears of War and use those, given that it's legal. They would be quite suitable, many different sizes, from the kryll as the little flying buggers, to the Brumak as titans or whatever, very varied.
Has anyone tried this with the new patch. My dedicated server keeps resettiing the game. BTW ill test patches if you like. Sudreal are a bunch of invasion junkies
I have just gotten this game for my ps3, and am looking foward to playing my favorite game mode invasion that i used to play with UT2004 all the time. I was wondering if you could you could setup the file in the unreal editer to work for the ps3, once the new toolset is ready.

Hey, It's nice you re-did Invasion, but I kinda don't like the monsters. I would like it more if you had the Unreal monsters.(Krall, Skarrj, Mercenaries, Brutes, Queen, Titan,etc.)
Yeah the classic monsters remodeled and a little re imagined for this would be excellent. Even some surprises from U2 wouldn't be so bad. Regardless, it's really great to see someone is taking the time to bring this game type back and into UT3.

I have also noticed some issues with the lizards not attacking. Even if you shoot them they ignore you. I have also seen them get stuck in a repetative loop, mostly involving jump pads. They get on a jump pad, and as soon as they land they run right back to it. I have only noticed either of these with the lizards, and not with the skeletons. Kinda weird.
Also, with the addition of server history/favorites in patch 1.1, the Sudreal server with this mod does not show up in game history. Not sure if this is an issue with the mod or the server, so if anyone else is noticing this issue please speak up.

EDIT: Just found out why it doesn't show up in game history. If you join a server by using the open command it will not be added to your history. Also, it stores server favorites by a unique server id, and not ip :/

Known Bugs:
. Respawning after losing all lives and then getting a new one on completion of a wave puts your camera in behindview mode. Oddly, fainting resets it.

I also would really like to add the original monsters, but the original models would not meet UT3 graphic standards. Unfortunately, I am not a good modeler by any standards, so we will have to wait for someone else to remake them.
As far as using the GoW models, I am open to the idea. I looked, but did not see anywhere that Epic made an official statement that we could use content from GoW. If anyone remembers seeing that could you please point me to it? Thanks.

What do I need to do in order to see the minimap/radarmap?
When I start the game, even if someone joins at the same time, they are a spectator and can't seem to play. How can I have multiple people play?
Do you have to set the GameMode= command line parameter to a certain value for it to work?
The hammer krall have lizard color heads, but their bodies are pink skin, not how they are in the screenshots. How can I have them look like they do in the screenshots?
Is there a kill count?

Honestly, somebody needs to do a Poll or something. It is a GREAT gametype, but I don't like the fact that all the Monsters are using normal weapons, it's the same as playing Death Match/Team Death Match. I would like to see some more traditional monsters; Even though they are not top-quality.

I think he has a lot of good code to use, but it may need to be re-done from the beginning and copy in a lot of parts that are useful. I'm surprised no one else has started making an invasion mod yet...at least no one has posted so.
The monsters need to have their own class, similar to how they did in UT2004. If no one gets to it, I may sit down to at least coding part of the old invasion up from scratch, but I'm waiting for something like WOTgreal to step out of the Dev version for UT3 before I jump in too much. I could re-do UT2004 invasion easily in the old environment....still unfamiliar with all the restructuring of classes.

I see no reason to start a different effort, but it may need a big restructure to use a monster class instead of the way it is now. None of the effort made so far is wasted, it can all be used, even if restructuring.
And I 2nd that invasion is one of the best gametypes from ut2004....we really need it back.
