btw, I did some updates. I reduced the trees since it was too much, and there were some framedrops. The main look isn't different and all, but now you can go in the grass and walk between the trees more easy.
Will finish the tree part tonight and will post new screenshots then.
Yah know, if you can get into the trees then they are too crowded to move around them. If you can't get into the trees then why not just put in the front rows and then make a material on a box for the ones in the distance. We snipers appreciate thinking of us too, thanks.

I can't wait to see this!! Can you walk on the tree limbs? Like the fog / haze too. The whole atmosphere is tense, LOL

Finally I've finished most of the tree part You can walk around in the grass now without getting stuck and with a nice performance also. Also I finished the sniperspot, just need to optimize it a little more. Since the fountain of the original was a little higher, I did put a nice looking emitter which make it look higher.
Most of the performance issues are gone, but on the sniperspot you look out on the whole map, and because there is so much grass/trees and other staic meshes, the FPS went down to 22-28fps on my 8800gts (1680x1050 and everything on max)..
Tonight I will finish the base geometry (just small tweaks) and need to put some blockingbrushes so you can't go on spots which will give you an unfair advantage. And of course, falling off the terrain isn't a good game-element either After this I will put all the weapons etc. in there and will make a botpath.
Also, since there are so many trees and terrain, it is possible there are still some unfair spots you can go to. Maybe you will find some spots I didn't think of, but thats why there are is the magical beta-stage
Will put some new screens there tonight, and you can expect a beta next week...
EDIT: I finally now how to import music. Anyone has a suggestion? The original had the exorcist theme if I remember correct..It needs to be a darkish song I think, but I'm not good with music knowledge...any suggestions are welcome.

I did some reasearch on the original map. Did search for comments and stuff like that. This are my conslusions:
1: Instagib Rifle was a big issue for most
Well, no one knows how to implent one in UT3 so thats solved
2: Some people thought it was too small
It's definatly bigger (but not too big)
3: Moving clouds was a request
Now It has a moving sky
4: The fountain needed movement in it
There is water coming out the gargoyles mouth and added an emitter..
Still need some good music...
2: Atmosphere of the map
I hope I recreated the special feeling, but in a original way..
It has different terrain, with more possibilities

Also, the owner looks vanished a long time ago, will PM him though. Don't think it will be a problem at all to release this, since it's based on his dream of autumn Well, this is my dream of Autumn, and no one can have the same dream...

1) The original had gray/brown fog.
2) Is your sky dome casting shadows? Either that or you haven't added a directional light to the level.

Also, the framerate is good I think. I get a steady 25FPS on the sniperspot and a overall of 40-60FPS through the entire level...

Looks great, love the atmosphere! Would be really cool to also have an XL version with (for example) a cemetery and some ruins, btw.
If it can't be modded, it ain't worth ****.
Ok, I did alot to the map, I'm almost ready to release a beta
EDIT: I decided that this is the song it is gonna be:

The only things I need to do now are creating a botnet and fix some pickupfactories. Then the first beta can be released. After that I watch all the comments, and will fix all the problems that are there.
I'm a little concerned about the map-size though. Packed it's like 20MB, but unpacked it is 57MB! I don't know why it is, I did set the audio to 30%, but it still is...well...big.
Tonight I will release a beta though, so prepare
