Default AnimSet Editor docs? Character Docs?

Is there any documentation for character-related things? Custom animation sets, AnimSet Editor, etc? For an engine that boasts it's 'modability' I really see barely any online documentation.

There are tutorials in the works by some members here. You have to be patient.

I don't understand why the community would have to do this themselves? I mean other companies that release game engines to modders release documentation, why wouldn't Epic do the same?

Or, do you work for Epic? Maybe I missed something.

Ideally they'd post it at the bottom of the udn page...

Hopefully that'll be updated sometime soon. You'd think they could just copy and paste the info from the licenser page, but I guess they're all busy making GOW 2 or Jazz Jackrabbit 2008 or something.

Have you seen Valve's 'documentation'? It's mostly user written. Especially on the art side and it's several years after the engine has been released. You should see people trying to figure out how to get all the elements of portal maps working correctly without any documentation at all. Have you seen CryEngine's documentation? It's all basic level design, and no character or animation stuff.

It's a common problem that's not restricted to just Epic. They've had enough problems supporting their business partners, so give them a bit of time getting everything organized for the public :P

Does anyone know where I can find the ActorX plugin for Max 2008?
