Server isnt in Lan list

My server shows in browser list but not on lan list...is that the way it is now? my UT04 server I had to connect via lan Does UT3 detect me as on lan automatically just curious

It should show up in both lists if you set it to be an Internet server. If you set it to LAN then it should be in the LAN list only.

If its not showing up in LAN and it was set to be an internet server, double check firewalls on the LAN pc's including any agressive antivirus programs such as NAV etc. If that doesnt seem to work, double check to make sure you dont have another network adapter higher up in the prioity list such as Hamachi or Wireless etc. Sometimes with multiple adapters, programs and games get confused which adapter to use and monitor traffic over.

Thanks for the reply..well i diabled Antivirus and firewall to see if that was the issue but still doesnt show in the Lan browser..checked all my filters and still nothing...the lan box is the same one i run Ut2004 on with no issues like that so i dont think its the adapter ..also ut2004 is not running at the same time ...any other ideas would be great.

dumb question what do you mean?if you set it to be an Internet server...i used the dedicated server with patch 101 is there a seting in ini to change server from internet to lan?

Yes there is a setting in the INI but more importantly, do you have the command line command that starts up the server set to advertise?

bIsDedicated=True?bShouldAdvertise=True?bIsLanMatc h=False

I am asumming you do if it shows up in the internet master list. Btw if you change the INI setting to LAN then it will only show up in LAN. It acts just like launching the server from the in game menu system and checking the box for it to be a LAN only server.

yes i believe so..i also tried the "openmyexternalip and i got in...i tried "openmyserverip and i connected..but it closed me out as soon as it connected..hop this can help

Ok good ppl, I have my noose ready! Im at my end here...server runs perfect ppl can join all is ok But still cant see it in lan list
Pleassssse im going insane here

If i play by connection in internet browser i get kicked in about 3 mins i need to connect via lan and i cant


-linksys router ver 1.46.02
-patched
-No multihome in command line
-all ports forwarded
-ports triggered aswell-thought id try that
-set to advertise
-i used "openip" with servers ip (192.168 etc) i connect and disconnects me rightaway

Ok reinstalled server....nothing
I also changed the command line to bIsDedicated=True?bIsLanMatc h=TRUE
and it showed up in lan browser but not in internet

gawd been on this all night and all day someone here has to be good a networking to help me out here

can u post ur command line? (remove sensitive stuff like username and pwd)

also in ur dedicatedserver log what ver does it say ur running?

somthing like init: version:xxxx near the top of log.

also what ports specifically did u forward?

hmm.. i duplicated this issue on my own server that's on my lan... the good news is the beta patch 2 shold be available very soon. with any luck itll address this issue. Also if u try to join from lan, but get connection failed, the server is then no longer shown in the server list for the internet players. that specific bug has been been fixed by beta patch 2 (admin mailing list says this should be out tonight or tommorrow depending on their testing results).

Thanks for the the response and time to help me out...its been quite trying to say the least...I have been trying to get on that admin email list and i am getting no response i hope i have the correct addy if you have a link please post it?

ye i keep my sent mail, when i joined the admin mailing list i
emailed ut3servers-join@udn.epicgames.com with the word join for subject and also the word join in the body.

yeah it got there its being held for some reason i guess ill get notifies
