Default Using Gears models/meshes etc in UT3 editor?

    Hi all,
is the subject line possible? Do i just load the required content as a package?

Yes, this should be very much possible. From what I've read so far, it should also be comparatively easy.
A totally different question, however, relates to the legality of such an activity. As far as I understand, transferring materials from Gears to UT3 would be quite illegal. Don't get me wrong, I want to see Marcus and the Lancer with a Chainsaw melee secondary fire in UT3 as much as the next guy, but if you or anyone else does it, I think it'd be smart to post such content on a website you know will host it.

i try to load gears packages but it sends me a msg saying that the files cannot be found. I obviously have them installed as i can see them!
Any ideas? Or if im looking to make a gears map, would iit be a safer bet to create it in the gears editor instead?

Well, I haven't tried this, personally. But common sense tells me that if you wish to make a map for Gears of War, rather than UT, it would be best to use the GoW editor. I mean, chances are that in order to get GoW materials into the UT3 editor you DO have to mess with them somewhat. Once again, I do not speak from experience -- this is based purely on what I've read here about compatibility between GoW and UT3. Perhaps someone more familiar with the issue can tell you more.

if common sense was involved, it shouldnt really be that hard to import textures and such from gears to UT3. its the same engine after all right? maybe its more complicated than that though..-i dont know.
The only issue with me having to use the gow editor is that i need the disc in the drive to use the editor - and no my copy isnt illegal but i have the UT3 bonus "how to make maps" 20+ hours of tutorials andwould like the tutorials running whilst modding. Hence my choice for the UT3 version. Yes perhaps someone who is familiar can help - thanks.
