It's probably not an overheating issue. My compy has done the same thing since I installed the game, and I run cool as ice. I've tried the .ini edit, upgraded all of my drivers (including the motherboard), throttled back all my overclocking, stopped all unnecessary processes, etc. etc. THIS IS A BUG. Pure and simple, and only through complaining and patching will it be resolved.

Ive been checkin my fps and its around 30-40 but once i freeze the first time it drops down to 20-25 sumtimes under 20. Im not sure whats the problem but mayb this can help figure it out, or mayb its just a bug like Sov stated.

    Unhappy How frustrating...

It's freezing for me after around 5 mins game play - sometimes longer, sometimes almost immediately.

it's certainly not an overheating issue - my rig is water cooled and the water temperature hasn't had a chance to go above 40 deg Celsius - it runs happily at up to 50 deg Celsius on many games.

On the occasions I've been able to access the task manager, UT3 is showing as using 100% of my CPU resources.

    My set-up is:

    ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe
    Intel Core2 Extreme X6800 @ 3.47GHz
    2 x 1Gb OCZ Reaper PC9200 DDR2
    2 x ATI X1900XTX 512Mb in Crossfire
    2 x 150Gb WD Raptor (RAID0)
    Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty

ATI Catalyst 7.11 (installed on a clean XP Pro install)
    Latest Creative drivers

I get the same results with Hardware OpenAL on or off.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You specs are almost identical to mine, even the mobo, except I only run one vid card. Also, your problem is IDENTICAL to mine. System freezes after a few minutes of gameplay. Sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes 5, once it even froze during the game load menu.

    It's not a heat issue.
    It's not a driver issue.
It's not a processor or rig issue.
It is a bug. Has to be.

Exact same issue here guys, but rather curious; It only happens for me in DM and CTF. I can play vCTF or WAR to my heart's content, but not the classic gametypes! Lame! I know it's bad practice but I'm not gonna post my specs here, I'm runnin this on an older Inspiron laptop haha. But as you've said, not an overheating issue, since I can crank out the WAR levels and this lockup occurs even when getting great FPS on a DM... Help us devs!

Add one more to the list.
about 20 to 30 minutes in it freezes.
I'm running liquid cooling on both the CPU and GPU - never have any overheat issues. Besides, an overheat issue should result in a forced system reboot, not a game freezing.
Running a Radeon x1650 Pro (no crossfire), updated to Catalyst 7.11.

Until a patch a released to fix this, this game is virtually unplayable - IMO, Epic really dropped the ball with this game - I never had problems like this with previous Unreal games, and on much lower-end rigs.

    Default Game crashing constantly

Ya i've got the issue where the game crashes after the first 5 minutes of gameplay. Im able to monitor my CPU / Ram / Heating usage/Levels thanks to an aliendock (have an Alienware Aurora 7500) and nothing seems to be overworking itself. Been spending most of the day looking around these forums, everyone complaining of the same issue with the real resolution in sight.. Guess we just need to wait on a service patch.
My drivers for video are forceware 169 (because of TimeShift) which runs flawlessly..

Defenetly a bug problem. I had this on the demo from time to time, but only a few times, and since i installed the full game the freezes are more frequent and random. May hold up to 2 hours or 2 seconds. Can't really predict that. Epic really screwed up big time. I played Bioshock, which uses the same Unreal Engine i think, and it ran smoothly, without crashes or freezes.

If it was a overheating problem, i wouldn't be able to bring up the task manager and shutdown the game. Besides, if it overheated, the pc would have restarted.

The beta patch didn't really help much. Let's just hope they fix this thing with the complete patch, otherwise this game just looks pretty on a shelf.

We can only hope to find it, or to wait for the next patch.
