Question Campaign in multiplayer mode does not work

    Hi,

I have a problem with the campaign mode in UT3. I'd like to play with a few friends the campaign via internet , but it does not work. We opened several Ports (7777,7788, 27900, 42292 ) but every time we try to connect a 'Connection Failed' message appears.

Who had the same problem, and resolved it?

We were able to join and host other kinds of UT3 modes, also we are able to connect to other UT3 campaign servers. But not our to own ones

We also tried playing in a VPN, and it did not worked too Anyone of you played the campaign already in multiplayer mode in the LAN?

    Greetings!

My roomate and I both bought the collectors edition [me for the tutorial CD, him because hes a rich daddies boy hehe] and yeah we couldnt get it work either. The game seems to do alright for us, playing the bots is fine but anything that requires the browser is just broken. Even when we try to create profiles it doesnt work. His crashes to the desktop, mine just sits there. We are also tryin to figure this one out. I imagine it's gamespy at fault here, but am not sure. I hope the first mod that comes out is a new browser!

    Hi,

Exactly the same problem... Most of the time, I cannot connect to multiplayer campaign, and this is very frustrating. Other modes (deathmatch, war, ...) work fine.

    Please could someone help ?

EDIT : I've just noticed that I always seem to be able to connect to the same players, and with others it will never work.

    Ok.

I have the error : "Your network configuration doesn't allow for game hosting, etc." (not sure about the translation, I have the game installed in french right now), too. But I don't really care since I don't want to host games, and my connection isn't too good either.

It might be my router, I tried to forward ports and it didn't seem to work. But if it's because some ports are closed, why am I able to play every mode of online games except campaign ?

And what does "full cone" NAT mean ?

    Thanks

Well you should not have to bother with what a full cone router is and what it's not. Appaerently, a full cone router is only needed if you want to host campaign games. Normal port forwarding works just fine with running dedicated servers.

Just as you, I'm also able to play any (other) game through my router. It's not your router that is the problem, it's UT3 which is not working with you standard issue router, which in my opinion, is the problem.

Some people suggest to use a local stunserver to get rid of the message, it will get rid of the message but hosting a campaign game still doesn't seem to work. It may get published but people don't seem to be able to connect. What I found out last night is that if I disable my Winblows firewall, I see many more campaign games hosted compared to how many I would see with the firewall enabled. However, I'm not able to connect to any of those servers that show up with firewall disabled. These are probably other players who experience the same issue as in that nobody seems to be able to join their game.
